Did You Know...

... that the Golden Knights had a perfect 8way start?

Golden Knights prepare for Round 1
posted Aug 2nd, 2011 - The Golden Knights had a beautiful meet opener in 8way and posted a 23-pointer to begin with, while the French 8way team is waiting for the boarding call to make the first 8way jump. This is caused by the fact that the 4way teams first completed Round 4 before the double-event competitors would get their call for the other event.

There are quite a few 8way teams with 4way competitors in the lineup, including three of the expected medal contenders, France, Russia and Germany. Yes, the German 8way team may have a chance to threaten the Sky Panthers Barkli 8way lineup if they perform as they have in 4way. Paratec-Saar is currently in 3rd place in the 4way Open Class competition.

The scores of the 4way competition are still not available yet since the judges are now taking care of 8way and other events. They will go back to 4way later on. Everything needs to be finished early enough to make it to the opening ceremony downtown Saarlouis. The last jump is scheduled for 4:30 PM.

Illusions posted another highscore in Round 3
NSL-TV now features once again the 2-way battle between NMP-PCH Hayabusa in Round 3. Both teams are still locked into each other with identical scores for all three rounds. Will Round 4 eventually break the tie on the first day of the competition?

Illusions repeated the upset in Round 2 and posted another sole highscore in the female 4way category. They are now dangerously close to Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders who almost funneled a Block 12, similarly to the troubles with Block 22 in Round 1. The race in the female 4way category seems to settle into a battle for the 1st place between France and Russia and a 3-team competition for bronze medals.

The competition between Australia's Rotor Out and Dynamite, with all four former EADS members, Germany's unofficial amateur world champions of 2006, is as tight as expected. The two French B-Teams are as close as usual and have their own internal battle for the best farm team finish.
