Did You Know...

... that Team Aeon's teenager Point Ellie McCoy keeps up with the top teams?

Teenager tunnel team Prodigy
posted Jun 27th, 2007 - The NSL News story on May 1 introduced team Prodigy to the NSL News audience with an amazing story. Team Prodigy had a very special lineup, it consisted of five young girls who spent their time after school with a new and different hobby than most other adolescents. They formed a 4-way team in Colorado and trained in the wind tunnel.

The May 1 story ended with the fact that the team discontinued with this lineup. However, one member, Ellie McCoy, continued with 4-way training and formed a new a tunnel team with Gary and Emma Beyer and Paul Gatling. The NSL News promised to follow up with more information of Ellie McCoy's 4-way career and the next step with Team Aeon.

One video of her training with the new team of 4-way competition veterans was already available when the May 1 story was posted, it can still be viewed by clicking here. Team Elan member and 4-way world champion in the female category, Emma Beyer, recently updated the NSL News, and Paul Gatling provided new footage of the team's tunnel training.

In fact, the new video is not only training. Ellie McCoy took on the whole AAA Class competition draw when Team Aeon copied the competition draw of the World Challenge 2007 at Bodyflight Bedford. It was a tough challenge since the competition at the tunnel competition was on a very high performance and scoring level.

Ellie McCoy surely has great coaching and support by her side. Gary Beyer is a former Airspeed 8-way world champion and currently player coach for Arizona Directe. Emma Beyer is a reigning 4-way world champion in the female category, Paul Gatling used to train and compete with Arizona Divewerkz.

However, the 14-year old teenager still had to fly her own slot to score the points, and she is doing it once again impressively well. The NSL News picked the 3rd round (13-9-N) for this story since it included more individual flying than other sequences of the World Challenge 2007. Ellie McCoy is flying the Point position.

Her piece partner in the Center Outside position is Emma Beyer to make it an all-female front piece. Gary Beyer works in the Center Inside position, and Paul Gatling is the Tail for Team Aeon's rear piece.

The NSL stop watch counted 21 scoring points within working time. Team Aeon with Ellie McCoy would have finished tied in 8th position just for this round in the 18-team field of the World Challenge 2007. The female world champions of Team Elan, with Ellie's coach Emma Beyer in the lineup, scored only one single point higher in the same round in April. It is well worth to take a look at the leaderboard and check out how well the competing teenager did.

The NSL News plans to upload more videos of the World Challenge 2007 very soon and will add more videos of Team Aeon to the NSL-TV show.

By the way, there is another world-class teenager competing in 4-way. The difference is the fact that he is really jumping from a plane, and he will be on the leaderboard once again this weekend. Benoit Lemay is the Tail for the Canadian team Evolution, and he is only 16 years of age. The CanAm Skydiving League has scheduled the next meet for the upcoming weekend at Nouvelair. Evolution with Ben Lemay finished the first meet on June 2 with an 18.5 average. The Lemay family team looks forward to posting the next scores soon.
