Did You Know...

... that the Northern Plains teams competed at the Couch Freak Boogie last weekend?

AAA Class NPSL Champion Gang Green
posted Sep 7th, 2005 - NSL competition continued in the Northern Plains Skydiving League, while the majority of 4-way teams in the country competed at the USPA Nationals 2005 in Perris. Seven teams competed at the Couch Freak Boogie, and Fast FWD member Bill Rehm updated the NSL News with the NPSL information.

In the AAA Class, Gang Green ran uncontested and had a rocky meet but a bit of fun. They were the only AAA Class team eligible for medals this season and the NPSL AAA Class trophy returned to Skydive Wissota with Gang Green.

In the A Class, the Wissota Shockers greatly improved their performance over the last meet with the handicap calculations not being an issue this time. The Wissota Shockers were also the only team in the A Class eligible for medals. Skydive Wissota will now have two NPSL trophies on the DZ for the next year.

AA Class NPSL Champion Fast FWD
In the AA Class, the medium fast draw was welcome after the last two slower meets. Fast FWD scored their season high even with a couple of rocky rounds, and one collision with the videographer was costly, as well. Microburst and Cockeyed scored similar to their recent performances this season.

Handicap was not a factor in the NPSL Championship 2005, including using Fast FWD's recent scoring in the Midwest Skydiving League. Fast FWD took the season win with a tie in league points after handicap (29 to 29 with Microburst). The raw scores were used as the tiebreaker. It was the first time in the NPSL history that the raw scores were needed to break the league's tied scores. Fast FWD ended up on top with the best three meets at 10.34 and Microburst at 7.61. Skydive Twin Cities will continue to hold the AA Class NPSL trophy for another year.

A Class NPSL Champion Wissota Shockers
In the Rookie Class, Okiespeed re-staffed another team and put some points on the board, significantly increasing the team's scoring in NPSL Meet 1. Okiespeed was not eligible for NPSL 2005 trophies having only competed at two meets of the 2005 season.

The NPSL competitors continued to skydive through the Couch Freaks Boogie forming teams like Fast Shockers, Fast Kitty, and Fast Kitty Shock and hope to put up teams like "Fast Kitty Green Burst Shockers" some day. Good times and better skydiving was had by all.
