Did You Know...

... that Bardagi won the annual battle with Blue Spirits in Sweden?

Bardagi at the World Cup 2011
posted Sep 4th, 2011 - Another national championship shortly after the World Cup 2011 took place in Sweden.

It happened between the completion of the Czech Nationals and the start of the German Nationals.

This time, it was the Swedish national 4way team Bardagi that still had to defend the national title after attending the World Cup 2011 in Germany. Bardagi knew that the annual archrival, Blue Spirits, would be waiting there to make it as difficult as possible for Bardagi, and once again it was not a walk in the park.

Bardagi won by 11 points after ten rounds, however, Blue Spirits was a formidable opponent, won two rounds and tied three more.

Blue Spirits had a new team member in the lineup this year who made the team even stronger. Former Arcteryx member Mattias Nord competed together with 4way world champion of 2004, Joey Jones. Arcteryx was the Norwegian national 4way team that finished with a 22.5 average at the World Meet 2008 in France.

Kenneth Eriksson and founding member Johnny Anderson completed the Blue Spirits 2011 lineup. Kenneth Eriksson was in the Tail slot for previous Swedish national team Phenix years ago.

Bardagi reported that the competition with Blue Sprits was quite challenging. The old and new Swedish national 4way team is now happy looking back at the 2011 season: "Up until the Swedish Championship the team has actually reached every goal that's been set up, and by winning this competition we're on our way towards our main goal - the World Championship in Dubai Nov/Dec 2012."

Bardagi will soon begin with planning for the long 2011/2012 season. The preparations begin at the end of September when the Swedish team visits the Swedish Sports Federation's national sports complex in Bosön.

The facilities offer the team and its members complex and individual training programs, including psychology, physiology, movement analysis, sport specific fitness tests and more. Goal is to strengthen the team physically and mentally.

The new meet videos on NSL-TV feature the Top 8 teams at the World Cup 2011 with their Round 6. The point deductions have once again been added to the extended leaderboard, and it was the costliest round of the meet so far. Hobby judges can specifically look at some of the critical calls: Bardagi (6), Gradient Alpha (6), Aerodyne Aerokart (17), NMP-PCH Hayabusa (1,2). Block 17 (Danish T - Murphy) and Block 18 (Zircon - Zircon) were the major trouble makers.
