Did You Know...

... that the Indoor Cloud League builds toward an exciting year-end battle?

OctopuCZ in 2020
posted Dec 1st, 2025 - The NSL News reported on November 3rd that Texas team Spaceland Dallas Pajama Party won the A Class sequence of the Indoor Cloud League in September. Their 18-point performance, after a one-point deduction, contributed to an intriguing situation on the 2025 leaderboard.

The ICL team at the Hurricane Factory in Prague, Czech Republic—annual winner of the Indoor Cloud League from 2014 to 2020 and again in 2023 and 2024—is facing strong opposition this year. In fact, only Kyle Hermberg’s team at iFLY Dallas has managed to outscore the Czech 4-way lineups since the Hurricane Factory joined the Indoor Cloud League in 2013, first in 2021 and again in 2022.

The final two months of the year now promise a tight race for the top spot. The Hurricane Factory claimed every monthly win in the first half of the year, while iFLY Dallas appears on track to match that run in the second half. Kyle Hermberg’s team has taken the highest monthly total from July through October. With only nine points separating the two groups at the end of October (1236–1227), iFLY Dallas enters the final stretch with clear momentum. Spaceland Dallas Pajama Party won the A Class sequence again in October, this time ahead of Jan Klapka’s M Team, after outscoring the junior team Sharks in September. Skywalkers Most continue to dominate the AAA/AA sequences each month, though this has not yet been enough to secure the overall lead. All signs indicate an exciting finish for the 2025 Indoor Cloud League.

Czech formation skydivers remain active across multiple disciplines. As the NSL News reported on October 2nd, Jan Klapka is also preparing a 60-way project scheduled for next year in Prost?jov.

There is even more happening in the Czech formation skydiving community. Back on February 8th, 2020, the NSL News noted that the 8-way team OctopuCZ had begun indoor training. At the time, it was unclear whether they planned to compete at indoor or outdoor events, or even to attend the FAI World Meet 2020 in Tanay, Russia. All members were active competitors, and Klapka had brought in 8-way expert Marco Arrigo as the team’s coach.

It ultimately took five more years before OctopuCZ made their first competition appearance. The Czech 8-way team competed at the Weembinamic 2025. Jan Klapka and his wife Jirina Klapkova, along with M Team members Mirek Slánský and Hana Opálková and 60-way project partner and former HF Flying Cirkus member Martina Vavácková, traveled to Weembi Lille together. There, they joined their OctopuCZ teammates Hana Uriková, Martin Hubsch, and Jan Kollmann. Uriková trained and competed with the HF Chicks national 4-way Women team, while Hubsch and Kollmann competed with other Czech 4-way teams. OctopuCZ was one of the few 8-way teams at Weembinamic that did not lose any of their three elimination duels after the four qualification rounds. They placed 13th after Round 4, remained 13th after the six elimination rounds, and finished 14th on the traditional leaderboard.
