News Article Did you know that France won the 8-way competition at the Weembinamic 2024?
posted: Nov 30th, 2024 The NSL News update of the 4-way competition at the Weembinamic 2024 pointed out that only two British competitors, NFTO members Sian Stokes and Vana Parker, returned to Weembi Lille after winning the national indoor championship title at the same location earlier in November. There was actually one complete 8-way team, QRF XONR8, that attended both events. The team members did not have to go back to Great Britain for the two weeks between the two indoor competitions. In fact, most of the team members of the international lineup live in France or near the French border in Central Europe. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Qatar Falcons may aim at more than FAI silver medals?
posted: Nov 29th, 2024 There are not many indoor competition opportunities for 8-way teams, as it requires at least a 16-foot flying chamber to accommodate the size and maneuvers of 8-way teams. Weembi Lille is one of the few windtunnels in the world with a flying chamber that is large enough and that offers 8-way competition regularly. The Qatar Falcons have made the trip to France several times since their first visit in March 2018 when they competed as a guest team at the French Indoor Nationals. They came back in November the same year for the Weembinamic 2018 at the same location. They were obviously well... (more)

News Article Did you know that the Weembinamic created once again interesting lineups?
posted: Nov 26th, 2024 British 4-way and 8-way competitors could have extended their visit at Weembi Lille by two weeks or return to the same place two weeks later to attend the next indoor competition after the British Indoor Nationals 2024. Weembi Lille hosted once again the annual Weembinamic with the event's special elimination format. All teams first perform four rounds to establish a leaderboard that is the foundation for the next three sets of two rounds (5-6, 7-8, 9-10). Then two or three teams are pitched directly against each other for the elimination rounds. However, it is not really an elimination, as... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Polish Flyspot Open featured a very colorful leaderboard?
posted: Nov 25th, 2024 The NSL News reported on November 8th how "fast and clean became a necessary combination in 2005". The article covered the change of judging rules that eliminated an additional 1-point penalty deduction for each infringement. The only impact of any rules violations after the rule change was not counting the infringed formation or maneuver as a scoring point. Practically, the punishment for a "bust" was halved from two points to one, and the rule change had a significant impact on the performance strategies of the competitive teams. Correcting mistakes and infringements, which had created cleaner... (more)
News Article Did you know that Kyle Hermberg is the Skydiver of the Year 2023?
posted: Nov 24th, 2024 The Indoor Cloud League scores and videos from iFLY Dallas completed the October leaderboard, and last month's scoring numbers lifted Kyle Hermberg's ICL team up and above the 1000-point benchmark. In fact, the iFLY Dallas team has never finished below 1000 ICL points annually since joining the Indoor Cloud League events fully in 2015. Only the corona virus crisis interrupted the participation enough, and iFLY Dallas did not have any scores for six months in 2020. Another longer break came earlier in 2018 when the change in leadership caused the interruption for six more months after the last... (more)
