Deland Norgies Wins FSL Meet Nine

The Norwegian National 4-way team, Deland Norgies took control at Skydive City in meet nine of the Florida Skydiving League on April 26. Using Ken Hansen as an alternate, the world class team won with a 15.2 average and an overall total of 91.0.

Hansen, a member of the Norwegian 4-way team which placed fifth at the world meet in 1995, trained at Skydive Deland for a week prior to the competition.

Second place winner, Deland Genesis, scored a new team record with a total score of 21 points in round four.

High-scoring Sebastian XL skipped this meet, allowing Genesis to add nine more league points toward the FSL PD Cup, presented May 16-17 at the FSL season finale in Deland. XL team member Lee Love was grounded after a minor injury right before this meet. XL captain Pete Allum expressed his disappointment on the phone when canceling: "We had been training, and we were ready for a good competition."

ZSpot from Skydive City delivered a solid performance. As with Genesis, the third-placed team improved its season's best score in round four with 15 points. The two-couple team had just set a team record at meet eight with 12 points.
