Did You Know...

... that 14-year old Ellie McCoy stands at a 20.5 average after Round 6?

Team Aeon at Bodyflight Bedford
posted Mar 30th, 2008 - The NSL-TV camera also followed a more successful performance in Round 6 of the World Challenge 2008. The NSL News has covered Team Aeon with 14-year old Ellie McCoy already several times in the past. The World Challenge 2008 was the first opportunity to meet the flying and competing teenager in person.

She has some good company with former Airspeed world champion Gary Beyer who is the player coach for the team. His wife Emma Beyer, former 4-world champion in the female catogory with Airkix, is usually Ellie's piece partner in the front piece, while Paul Gatling and Gary Beyer are in the rear piece.

Emma Beyer was not available this time, and Gary Beyer's former 8-way teammate with Airspeed, John Eagle, took the Center Outside slot at Bodyflight Bedford. He is also a former 4-way world champion with Airspeed Vertical.

Team Aeon gets ready for Round 6
Ellie McCoy surely has a good lineup that is supporting her progression. However, she still has to deliver her own part of the puzzle every time she enters the tunnel chamber. Her team is doing amazingly well and was at a 20.0 average level going into Round 6.

The NSL-TV camera was mostly focused on the teenager's performance in the Point slot. She was just as collected as her teammates and calmly delivered for a 23-pointer, which beat Hayabusa's 22-pointer in the same round. Team Aeon now stands at a 20.5 average after six rounds.

She did not even know too much about the current scoring level and the standings when the NSL News followed Team Aeon after the Round 6 performance. Coach Gary Beyer said that the team does not look at the scores during the meet. It seems to work well or his team. However, Ellie McCoy did as well or even better in Round 7 after knowing the scoring level... The video of Team Aeon's Round 6 can be viewed by clicking here.
