Team Aeon had no problem eventually knowing about the team's scoring level. Ellie McCoy and her mentors followed up well on the 23-pointer for Round 6 that was featured on NSL-TV. The 37-pointer in Round 7 lifted Aeon to a 22.9 average at the moment.
The sequence of Round 7 is being presented by the Norwegian national 4-way team Arcteryx. Two members of the team, Ditta Valsdottir (SDF4ST) and Derek Broughton (Venom), had already competed at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008, while Ole Petter Hjelle and Mathias Nord were not in DeLand at that time. The World Challenge 2008 was now the first competition for the new lineup.
The new engine from Sweden, Center Inside Mathias Nord, explained that the team has to take more chances than others and put a lot of extra energy into each competition jump. It has worked well so far in Bedford. Airspeed Odyssey is the only national team that is ahead of Norway. XL and Perris Fury are both not eligible for the World Meet 2006.
Arcteryx was happy with the performance for the fastest sequence of the competition when they came out of the flying chamber. However, the 39-pointer was still six points behind Airspeed Odyssey's highscore of 45 points, tied by the Russian team Skylight Barkli.
Ditta Valsdottir has to recover quickly from an injury during Round 7. She had not even noticed that she hurt the pointing finger a few minutes earlier in the middle of the tunnel action. The Arcteryx video of Round 7 can be viewed on NSL-TV by clicking here.
