Did You Know...

... that a new NSL-TV video shows Team Future in 4-way and freeflying?

Team Aeon with Ellie McCoy
posted May 12th, 2008 - The NSL News story on 29 February 2008 was one of the several previews of the World Challenge 2008. The article covered the kids and teenagers who would compete at the windtunnel competition in Bedford.

The NSL News later followed up with a story that was posted during the event and brought Team Aeon's and Ellie McCoy's 20.5 average after six rounds to the attention of the NSL News audience. The story on 30 March 2008 wrapped up Aeon's performance at the World Challenge 2008 so far.

Team Future in a 4-way dirtdive
Team Aeon competed only in 4-way, and 14-year old Ellie McCoy was not the youngest competitor at Bodyflight Bedford, as the same preview story had already mentioned. 11-year young Kayla Tinucci and her 8-year young brother Justin are Team Future and competed in 4-way and freeflying both.

Tunnel instructors Brad Cole and Daniel Perry completed the 4-way lineup, while they were only watching when the kids they competed in freeflying.

Kayla and Justin Tinucci did actually better when they were on their own. They won the 4th place of eight teams in the freeflying competition, while Team Future ended up in last place of the AA Class competition in 4-way, with an 8.6 average after the 10-round meet.

Competition round of freeflying
Of course, it was much more challenging for the Team Future 4-way members to work with the significant fall rate differences between the kids and the tunnel instructors. The NSL-TV video includes live coverage of Round 6 (9-P-18) from inside the tunnel chamber.

The same video is actually a documentation of Team Future's challenging schedule at the World Challenge 2008. The AA Class teams were flying at the end of each round. There was not much time for Kayla and Justin Tinucci to change jumpsuits and prepare for the upcoming round in freeflying.

Heave weight belt for Justin
The NSL-TV camera followed Team Future on the way from the preparations for Round 6 in the 4-way event to the finish of the same freeflying round. Daddy and the two 4-way teammates were surely helping as much as they could to make the transition as easy as possible.

Kayla Tinucci even found a minute to explain for the NSL News that her team had approx. five minutes each round to switch from 4-way to freeflying. She was changing her jumpsuit while she was talking to the NSL News reporter.

Short rest for Team Future
Another NSL-TV video shows Team Future's Round 6 in freeflying from the judging perspective. The combination of both videos shows the whole Team Future performance from a different perspective. The comprehensive flying skills of the two children are already well developed and even very competitive in freeflying.

The difficulty of the logistics with the double duties do not even show at all on the leaderboard. However, the NSL-TV video provides an idea of what Kayla and Justin Tinucci were up to in Bedford. Enjoy the show.
