"We have not been having a lot of luck with the weather up here. No big surprise that we had to cancel the meet on Friday night. However, at 6 am next morning we put it back on again."
The weather forecast had already kept a lot of people away from the dropzone on Saturday, as Cherie Schuch added: "We were still able to jump until mid afternoon. Then the winds picked up, the clouds rolled in and kept everybody grounded."
Cherie Schuch introduced the new AA Class team Sleeper after its first short meet experience. Karl and Cherie Schuch have been working with the team to prepare it for the MASL 2008 competition season.
"We have a new full-time AA Class team that did its first jumps out of an airplane at this meet. They have trained with us in the New Hampshire windtunnel and then just two weeks ago with Pete Allum in Orlando. Three of the team members have less than 300 jumps."
Seasoned videographer Barry Bichler, former O2 Project and Air Pollution member on camera, will be filming Sleeper from here on. Cherie and Karl Schuch are looking forward to working more with the team and on its progression.
FXC was a pickup team for the Rookie Class and consisted of Dana Hazelton, Chris Schrier, Mike Driscoll, and Pete Guilfoyle. Cherie Schuch helped the new team through the short meet.
Cherie and Karl Schuch's new team, Wind Shear (Rob Fields, Szilard Kristof, Chris Heinan on camera), will have its debut at the Karp Cup 2008. The new lineup has completed three windtunnel camps and one training camp in DeLand with 20 jumps so far. Cherie Schuch is still waiting for better weather, for her own team, as well:
"It has been a slow start for any jumping in the Northeast. When will the sun come for more than 24 hours????"
