... that Paraclete XP will defend the home turf in two weeks?
posted Jun 5th, 2008 -
The World Challenge 2008 offered many different and interesting angles of the 4-way competition world. This new story connects the two currently most popular 16-foot windtunnels in the world, Bodyflight Bedford and Paraclete XP.
The SkyVenture tunnel in Raeford has also its own home team, the Paraclete XP 4-way team. Members are owner Tim D'Annunzio and his son John, plus the former Airspeed veterans Andy Honigbaum and Kirk Verner who both work at Paraclete XP.
The interesting aspect is the fact that the Paraclete XP team traveled to the United Kingdom in March this year and attended the World Challenge 2008. The Paraclete XP tunnel experts were not only eager to show how well they master 4-way indoor competition. The team members were surely very interested in comparing their own facilities with the ones in Bedford.
The 22.7 average at the World Challenge 2008 was very impressive, however, not too surprising.
The same linup had already posted a 20.2 average at the Paraclete XP Tunnel Meet at the beginning of February in Raeford.
The Paraclete XP scores were more surprising in February. The team had attended only one competition in 2007, the Paraclete XP Money Meet in July, with a 12.8 average after ten rounds. The 20.2 indoor average seven months later was evidence that a lot of tunnel training can really lift a team to a completely new performance level.
The 22.7 average six weeks later in Bedford brought Paraclete XP to the position of a very strong home turf defender in Raeford this month.
The Paraclete XP Money Meet 2008 is coming up, and the home team will surely not finish with a 12.8 average this year.
Tim D'Annunzio, John D'Annunzio, Andy Honigbaum and Kirk Verner managed to tie Airspeed Odyssey's 21-pointer in Round 9 at the World Challenge 2008. The video of this round is now available on NSL-TV, together with two other good rounds for Paraclete XP in Bedford.
The tunnel team kept up well with the best 4-way teams in the world at the indoor competition. It will be interesting to see how far the Paraclete XP lineup can take it at its first outdoor competition of the 2008 season. The NSL News story on 16 May 2008 mentioned already that this year's field will be stronger and international.
It will be challenging for Paraclete XP to defend the home turf in Raeford. However, the 22.7 average in Bedford has shown that the team is ready to post some impressive outdoor scores, as well. The NSL News will be live on site to cover the event.
