Did You Know...

... that Round 2 was a more technical round with a slower sequence?

posted Jun 26th, 2008 - The regular visitors of the Paraclete XP Money Meet 2008 page have probably already detected the new link to the NSL-TV page where the previously featured meet videos can be reviewed. The link to Round 1 on the leaderboard has already been replaced by the second round of last weekend's competition in Raeford.

Only videos of six of the eight AAA Class teams can be uploaded. Danish Blaze and Norway's female national team Fortitudo used their European PAL camera system, and the dubbing station was not able to accommodate the different technology. The judges reviewed the jumps of these two teams by using their laptop computers.

The judging system at the Paraclete XP Money Meet was the good old stop watch, and the judges were challenged to re-learn the exact timing. The modern technology of new judging systems does not require the judges any longer to find the last grip that completes any scoring formation. They only have to push a button and confirm that the scoring formation was counting or not. The computerized timing and the freeze frame take care of the actual working time once the clock has started running.

Freeze frame, half speed judging and other rules were also topics at a meeting that Chief Judge Judy Celaya called on Saturday when there was enough time during a weather hold. It was a productive meeting, and the NSL News will provide a summary of the discussion soon.

Paraclete XP Money Meet 2007

Round 2 was a more technical round with a slower sequence, and the top teams scored more on an even level compared to the meet opener. The Golden Knights tied Airspeed Odyssey's 19-pointer on site, while Hayabusa Defence did the same in Belgium. Perris Fury completed 19 points within working time, as well, and lost one point in the judging room. Paraclete XP and Fortitudo lost one point each, Danish Blaze had a 2-point deduction. Enjoy the show.
