... that the World Meet polls indicate no big surprises?

The World Meet 2008 polls confirm Airspeed Odyssey as the top contender in the 4-way Open Class so far.
The NSL News audience indicates that the race for the silver medals might take place between Hayabusa Defence and France Maubeuge. The Belgian team has even passed the French national team at the moment. The Russian Sky Panthers would end up once again in 4th place.
France is winning the 8-way competition in the polls. However, the US team KnightTrax is not far away in second place. There doesn't seem to be a doubt that the Italian 8-way team Ex3mo will win the bronze medals.
The NSL News coverage of the FAI World Meet 2008 is brought to you with the help of:
The lineup of the US team Fastrax Blue includes another competitor who is coming back from the World Meet 2006 in Germany. Brianne Thompson was already the Inside Center for Elsinore Select and missed the bronze medal position in Germany just by an inch. The US team was tied with the Russian Ladybirds after five rounds and lost the bronze medals only after IPC's tie-breaking rules had to be applied.
Brianne Thompson competed with Kris Byrne, Michelle Carlstrom and Tammi Rettig in 2006. Her Fastrax Blue team mates are Becky Broccato (Tail), Christy Frikken (Point) and Erin Murphy (Outside Center). Perris Fury's Center Outside Christy Frikken has been filling in for Kelley Frederickson who died on May 20 in her sleep.
Brianne Thompson seems to have a much better chance to win a medal this time, as the NSL News audience sees the US team on the same scoring level as the French national team Aerokart Deep Blue. Christy Frikken is probably helping the team a lot with her experience and skills.
