Did You Know...

... that the scores of the official training jumps provide additional insights?

posted Aug 9th, 2008 - Things have become more serious now at the World Meet 2008 in Maubeuge. The scores of the World Meet 2006 in Germany have already been replaced by the scoring tables for the upcoming competition.

The polls have also been removed for the moment. However, they will be brought back soon for good reasons. The pages where the results of the polls are posted offer a discussion forum that can be used throughout the whole event for many different purposes. Greetings to the teams, competitors and friends have a place there as much as serious discussion of the competition and feedback.

There are intersting news to be discussed. The scores of the official training jumps are now available for the NSL News audience, and there are a few surprises.

Hayabusa Defence had the highscore with a 32-pointer for a fast sequence, including Block 15 (Cat - Cat). Arcteryx scored 30 points, and Evolution had 29 points. Airspeed Odyssey, France Maubeuge and Sky Panthers did not offer their video footage to the judges. Arcteryx was the only team that had both training jumps evaluated by the judges.

The NSL News coverage of the FAI World Meet 2008 is brought to you with the help of:
Handout of the competition draw
Bodyflight Storm posted the highest score in the female category with a 27-pointer. Neither Deep Blue nor Fastrax Blue got their scores posted. The surprise came from downunder. The Australian team posted a 22-pointer, which tied the Chicas' score. Both teams outscored Fortitudo's 21-pointer.

The training results in 8-way will hopefully not discourage the Italian 8-way fans too much. Ex3mo's 15-pointer was two points behind the German team EADS, which had selected the slower sequence. The US 8-way team and France tied their scores with 22-pointers.

Bodyflight Storm at work
The defending 8-way world champions from France will not have a walk in the park in Maubeuge, as the taining results clearly show. Germany seems to be closer to a medal position than ever before in the modern age of Formation Skydiving competition. Italy will be in a similar situation as France - there will be pressure...

The opening ceremony is next on today's agenda. The teams went to work right after the competition draw was handed out. Dirtdive, creeping, exit work at the mockup - it was a busy time again at the dropzone before the buses departed heading downtown Maubeuge.
