Did You Know...

... that the 4-way competition is in full swing?

Interview with Airspeed Odyssey
posted Aug 10th, 2008 - Meet Director Patrice Girardin sent the 8-way teams back to bed in the afternoon when it became obvious that there would be no time for today's second event. However, he saw chances to send loads later in the afternoon, and he was right. The first 4-way teams have been in the air, the parachutes have landed, and the competition has begun.

The NSL News has been busy in the meantime. Nathan Polis completed the clip of yesterday's opening ceremony, Hayabusa coach Joey Jones visited the press room for a live interview. Airspeed Odyssey's complete lineup took the time a little bit later and chatted with the NSL News about Eliana Rodriguez' quest to become the first female competitor who has world championship gold medals in 4-way and in 8-way under the belt.

The NSL-TV camera captured some of the training jumps from the DZ-TV screen, and Hayabusa Defence provided the original footage of the team's 32-pointer in yesterday's training round.

The NSL News coverage of the FAI World Meet 2008 is brought to you with the help of:
Busy hangar, especially at the down times
Unfortunately, the NSL News audience will have to wait until evening comes in Maubeuge. The event management was really well prepared to accommodate the internet fans. However, there are hundreds of laptops at the dropzone that are using the wireless network almost all day long. The traffic gets worse when the 334 competitors are on the ground. It is possible to access the internet and upload the usual NSL News. However, it is impossible to upload video files of any reasonable size.

The NSL News hopes that the local traffic will slow down once the meet operation is over and the teams and competitors return to their hotels and appartments. This will be the time when the missing video files will be uploaded. They will be available tonight in Europe and in the afternoon in the USA.

However, the competition is in full swing now, and the first scores will be posted very soon.
