Did You Know...

... that Bodyflight Storm mastered trouble situations?

Fay Kimble checks the scoresheets
posted Aug 11th, 2008 - Both 4-way events have completed four rounds, and both events are still as spicy as it could be hoped for. Airspeed Odyssey does not have as strong a position after four rounds any longer as it seemed earlier today. The US team has still completed the highest number of scoring formations within working time, but several points got lost due to infringements.

The mentioned 25-pointer in Round 3 was reduced to a 24-pointer. Two more points got lost in Round 4, and Airspeed ended up with 16 points, while four other top contenders posted 17-pointers, including the closest rival at the moment, Hayabusa Defence. After all, Airspeed and Haybausa have both won two rounds each.

Russia completed 18 points in Round 4, as well, and lost two points in the judging room. Fay Kimble, the webmaster for the IPC, is also working in the press room in Maubeuge and receives the scoresheets directly from the judging room. The NSL News has the opportunity to take a peak whenever necessary...

The NSL News coverage of the FAI World Meet 2008 is brought to you with the help of:
Female 4-way lineup from downunder
Bodyflight Storm had a nervous start in Round 1 and almost funneled the subterminal Block 10 in Round 3. The UK team still holds the top position, currently with a 20.5 average. However, Deep Blue and Fastrax Blue are both very much in touch with the top team from the United Kingdom and are just waiting for more Storm mistakes.

Norway's underdog Fortitudo is already 12 points behind the bronze medals and is now trying to fend off another underdog from downunder. The Australian female lineup has impressed the field and has left the German Chicas already behind by three points at the moment.

Italy in silver medal position after Round 1
Two team members competed already at the World Meet 2006 in Germany, as 8-way member from downunder, Fiona McEachern, explained to the NSL News. She is the Chair of the IPC Committee Formation Skydiving and is testing her rules out in the field this year.

The 8-way competition has begun, and it was not the best start for the US 8-way team. A 3-point penalty situation at the end of the first page caused enough trouble to give France a serious head start of five points. Italy is even in second place after the first round, and the Italian fans could have been right in the NSL World Meet polls - if the meet was over now...
