The weather was still not cooperating very well or not at all today. Meet Director Patrice Girardin has already announced that he will soon declare the next round as the semifinals. This means that only the top ten teams would make Round 7. It is also possible that Round 7 could become the final round with only six teams if nothing changes.
The weather forecast for Thursday is much better. However, the last take-off is scheduled for 11:00 am at the latest. The rules say that the host has a maximum of five days for the whole competition. He can obviously apply a shorter time frame. It will probably be tough for the teams tomorrow to watch ceremonies and entertainment at the dropzone while the weather might be jumpable and the shortened meet is already over.
The NSL News coverage of the FAI World Meet 2008 is brought to you with the help of: |
The Norwegian delegation had secretly developed a plan that would include physical violence to get possession of the Fun Flag. They mobilized their strongest delegation members to form a human wall that was carefully moved close to the British quarters.
All of a sudden, they moved in quickly and strongly and surrounded the flag area with this wall of human bodies. Another Viking was prepared for the next job and tried desperately to saw off the well tightened flag from the tent. The attacking Vikings apparently did not expect much resistance.
They should have known better after yesterday's events in the British tent. Brits and Scots united in defence of the Fun Flag - it was clear that they would not shy away from a good fight. So it happened, and the Brots attacked the wall of human Viking bodies from all angles, even from the bottom and the top.
However, the Brots decided not to let the Vikings get away with this aggressive attack on the Fun Flag so easily. The precious item was even ripped, and they called the police for a crime scene investigation on the spot. The police came and did their job. The Vikings are in trouble...
The video of the brawl can be viewed by clicking here.
Last not least: the competition is over for all teams except the top ten. Cyprus achieved the team's big goal. The team did not end up at the very bottom of the field for the first time. Congratulations to Marios Georgiades, George Kakkis, Stavros Kypragoras, Petros Papargyrou and Jeffrey Montgomery on camera.
