... that EADS won the 8-way title with a 15.8 average?

The NSL News goes back one more time to the German DFV Cup 2008. There was also an 8-way competition that followed the exciting race in 4-way. Both teams that battled for the top spot in 4-way, FSC Eisenach and X-Ray Remscheid, were also part of the 8-way competition, and once again in different teams. The FSC Eisenach members (Markus Bastuck, Dieter Schwarz, Jörn Thiele, Max Thiele and Alexander Hau on camera) competed together with Olaf Biedermann, Göran Meyer, Thomas Spielvogel and Henning Stumpp in 8-way with EADS.
Olaf Biedermann, Göran Meyer and Thomas Spielvogel are former members of the EADS 4-way team that dominated the 4-way competition in Germany and finished as the best "amateur team" at the World Meet 2006 in Germany. The team retired in 4-way at the end of the 2006 season, and FSC Eisenach took over. Jens Gönnemann was the fourth member of the EADS 4-way lineup.
Jens Gönnemann was not able to continue with the 8-way team after moving to Australia, and Henning Stumpp filled his slot. He is a former X-Ray member and joined the EADS 8-way lineup when both teams re-grouped last year and at the beginning of the 2008 season. Henning Stumpp was also a member of the FSC Remscheid 8-way lineup that competed for Germany at the World Meet in Croatia 2004 and in Germany 2006.
X-Ray Remscheid joined forces with the 3rd placed team at the DFV Cup, the all-female Chicas lineup. It was just a pickup team for the event, and "ChicsRay Remscheid" took the 2nd place with honors and a 9.0 average. EADS finished with a 15.8 average after eight rounds at the DFV Cup.
There was obviously no serious 8-way competition, as only these two teams had signed up and one of them was Germany's national 8-way team EADS that had already finished in 4th place at the World Meet 2008 with a 16.3 average. The competition at the DFV Cup 2008 was only a formality for EADS.
The NSL News had already provided the link to FSC Eisenach's 4-way footage of the DFV Cup 2008 with the story on 10 September 2008.
The EADS 8-way jumps can be found at the same location. NSL-TV now added another 8-way competition jump of team EADS at the World Meet 2008, provided by the French iScore system that will be introduced by the NSL News soon.
X-Ray Remscheid has also posted the team's competition jumps of the DFV Cup 2008 at the team's website. Interested 4-way fans can now follow the exciting competition between the two German teams throughout the whole meet.
NSL-TV picked Round 6 to feature X-Ray Remscheid, which is one of the three rounds where the underdog outscored the national team. Enjoy the new video show.
