... that the FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando keeps growing?

Participants of the FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando in December
posted Jan 1st, 2012 - The number of participants grew once again at the next "FSL Tunnel Kicker" on December 6th at iFLY Orlando. The last open event in October had the highest attendance since iFLY Orlando and Florida Skydiving League launched this project together in July this year. It has been growing ever since and continues to bring together the 4way community in Florida once per month.

The November event was exclusively a training opportunity for the FSL teams who would compete at the NSL Championship 2011, as the NSL News reported on 9 November 2011. The 2011 season is over now, and the December event was open again for all skydivers in Florida who are interested in joining the 4way community.

Several new young and talented skydivers showed up, and veteran coach Robert Chromy helped the individuals and 4way lineups with instructions and guidance. Several more experienced 4way competitors were flying as player coaches and were mixed up in the lineups with the new 4way tunnel flyers, including Gilles Dutrisac, Bob Byrne, Laura Song and Christine Freiherr.

Final preparations for the flying sessions
The youngest newcomer came from Clewiston. Julie Warner had a total of 47 jumps when she visited iFLY Orlando for her first tunnel flying session. She did not make it into a 4way lineup right away, but the video shows that it may not take very long. Her friend Joanne McLachlan, also from Clewiston, made her first tunnel 4way this time, after individual training in October. Kolla Kolbeinsdottir, editor of the Blue Skies Mag, also made her first tunnel 4ways last Tuesday and was looking good. Several participants had so much fun that they decided to buy additional tunnel time right after the FSL time to practice even more.

The iFLY Orlando/FSL Tunnel Kicker of December was dedicated to improving individual skills in a 4way environment. The random formations and tunnel blocks were left aside this time, and the participants went through basic 4way drills. The quality of the flying sessions was quite impressive at times, and the FSL 2012 season may see some well improved performance level of the FSL teams.

The December camp and the FSL Tunnel Kickers during the winter season are also a part of the team building and networking activities for the 2012 season of the Florida Skydiving League.
