Did You Know...

... that SDC Rhythm XP had a special reunion at the iFLY Tunnel Kicker last night?

Rhythm 2007 lineup at the Shamrock Showdown
posted Jan 11th, 2012 - Florida Skydiving League and iFLY Orlando continue with the FSL Tunnel Kicker in 2012. The promotional project was launched last year and has become very popular and successful on both sides. iFLY's Vice President Operations Trevor Thompson confirmed that the program will be continued in 2012, and the first event took place last night in Orlando.

The NSL News will cover more of the event later on. First of all, there is an urgent topic that needs to break the news today, as one of the NSL News experienced participants expected it to happen...

The January Tunnel Kicker included a special feature that was not really planned at all. SDC Rhythm XP members JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz have now moved to the team's winter headquarters in Sebastian, Florida, and have become once again a part of the Florida 4way community, at least for several months.

JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz both joined the FSL Tunnel Kicker last night and provided their flying and coaching experiences to help the participants with free advice and their flying skills in different 4way groups. Robert Chromy and Gilles Dutrisac have attended previous iFLY/FSL events last year and were back for yesterday's evening session.

All four of them eventually ended up in the flying chamber at the same time, which was a special feature for the NSL News, participants and audience. It was special since the participants had the unique opportunity to watch world class 4way performance, but it was also special for another reason.

Robert Chromy, Gilles Dutrisac, JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz were all connected in 4way at some point in time. In fact, Robert Chromy is one of the original Rhythm members, and yesterday's flying session turned into a 3way reunion. He was the player coach for Rhythm when the team was formed for the 2007 season. Laurent Beaudouin was the 4th original member.

Rhythm with player coach Robert Chromy attended four meets in 2007 and finished as a guest team with a 14.5 average in 3rd place at USPA's Advanced Class competition. Rhythm then replaced the player coach in 2008 with a full member, and Brian Ball took Robert Chromy's Center Inside slot. Rhythm won USPA Advanced Class gold medals with a 16.9 average in 2008 and moved up into the Open Class competition.

That's the point in time when Gilles Dutrisac also connected with JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz. Brian Ball left the team at the end of the 2008 season, and Rhythm was looking for the third Center Inside in the third year. Gilles Dutrisac had trained and competed with FSL team FSC Wind Damaged in 2007 and 2008 and was ready to make the next step up. He went to the Rhythm tryouts where he had to accept that Rob Radez eventually got the open slot.

Gilles Dutrisac now trained and competed with Start 4 in 2011 who won USPA's Advanced Class silver medals after a jumpoff round, as the NSL News reported on 28 December 2011. The video shows a Rhythm 4way lineup in the iFLY tunnel chamber that has never jumped together before. By the way: the new SDC Rhythm XP lineup with Chris Farina will compete at the Shamrock Showdown 2012.
