Did You Know...

... that SkyQuest is extending to Germany this year?

posted Jan 25th, 2012 - The message has been spread in Germany earlier than in the USA: SkyQuest is extending and has added SkyQuest Germany to the original SkyQuest Florida event. The first SkyQuest Germany 2012 event is scheduled for 23 - 26 August and will be hosted by FSC Remscheid, MD Skydive and the National Skydiving League.

The success of SkyQuest Florida is the main reason for the extension, and the event in the center of Europe will make it much easier for more European skydivers to participate. MD Skydive has been using the large airport in Magdeburg for several years, which offers perfect conditions for hosting bigway events. MD Skydive has introduced SkyQuest Germany to the European audience with this online message:

"The Big Bang at Magdeburg - No longer exclusively in Florida: SkyQuest. BJ Worth, the Mr. James Bond of skydiving and 400way world team guru, as well as Kurt Gaebel, inventor of NATIONAL SKYDIVING LEAGUE, are going to come to Magdeburg. This extremly popular jump event was always presented exclusively in Florida, but has this year's European premiere in Magdeburg. Good connections made it possible. Klaus Mathies, Chairman of the FSC Remscheid, has played a significant role. SkyQuest brought together highly skilled jumpers in multiple skydiving disciplines for one of the biggest extravaganzas in the sport. With different events happening simultaneously, SkyQuest has become a skydiving air show. Note: The organisation of jumps is coordinated by SkyQuest. The names of the interested jumper (see registration form) will be forwarded by mdSKYDIVE to BJ Worth and Kurt Gaebel."

4way team DeLand Majic at SkyQuest 2001
The original SkyQuest Florida event was indeed a multi-event spectacle, as the video clip of the earlier years at Fantasy of Flight shows. SkyQuest Florida eventually moved to Skydive DeLand where the participants were better served with skydiving facilities than they were at the theme park.

The events were reduced to 4way competition and the popular Kaleidoscope Dives with 100+way sequential entertainment for high-profile bigway fans. The same combination now moves to Germany in the summer, with BJ Worth and National Skydiving League providing the same environment as they have for 11 years in Florida.

The conditions are set up for the same great success that the event has had in the last decade. MD Skydive will provide a fleet of aircraft that Germany does not see very often. The details will be released very soon. The NSL News introduced one of the jump planes during the visit to Germany and the World Cup 2011 on 29 July 2011.

4way guidance by ISB Air Remscheid
MD Skydive's partnership with FSC Remscheid and Club President Klaus Mathies, who was recently honored with a gold medal by the German skydiving federation (DFV) for his ongoing support of the sport over decades, will guarantee great logistics for SkyQuest Germany 2012 and the participants. BJ Worth will be able to focus only on organizing his unique Kaleidoscope Dives, and the 4way fans will also have special and very attractive guidance.

ISB Air Remscheid, the German national team in the female category and top contender for medals at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2012, will be at SkyQuest Germany 2012 to provide free coaching and organizing for the participants. SkyQuest Germany is scheduled shortly after the German Nationals 2012, and the ISB Air Remscheid members will most likely bring some new medals to Magdeburg, maybe even the German gold medals for the first time...

National Skydiving League and ISB Air Remscheid will introduce the NSL 4way competition classes to the German skydivers. The four categories allow skydivers any entry level to 4way competition, beginning at the very casual Rookie Class level and ending with the AAA Class which applies the complete IPC dive pool. Player coach lineups with the ISB Air members and 4way Scrambles will also be a part of the event that is meant to accommodate each and every skydiver who wants to learn more about Formation Skydiving competition.

BJ Worth with SkyQuest Florida Kaleidoscope Divers
Germany mostly applies a different set of competition categories at the present time, while most European countries have synchronized their rules with each other and with the NSL system. SkyQuest Germany 2012 will offer an opportunity for the current and future German competitors to learn more about the dive pool system of the international NSL Network.

The event in Magdeburg begins on August 21st with an open Boogie that continues throughout the whole week. BJ Worth and his Kaleidoscope Divers will join the action on August 23rd for four days of bigway fun. The NSL 4way event with ISB Air Remscheid begins on Friday, August 24th, and will include a competition on the weekend.

Participants can already sign up and complete necessary registration procedures at the MD Skydive website. The selection process for BJ Worth's Kaleidoscope Dives at SkyQuest Germany 2012 will begin very soon and require additional information. There are no limitations or special requirements for the participants of the 4way event.
