The 4way teams compete in two categories. Kirk Verner explained that the AA Class is actually more like the Advanced Class at the USPA Nationals, as it has the same sequences. He just wanted to give the "amateur teams" a separate leaderboard. The 8way teams are all flying the same draw and are on the same leaderboard.
The NSL-TV camera captured some of the top teams preparing all or at least the first competition rounds. There was no visual evidence yet of the complete XL lineup at Paraclete. Only Andy Delk and Brian Johnson were on site for their 8way training with Paraclete XP8. However, they insisted that Pete Allum and Steve Hamilton were there, and Kirk Verner confirmed that XL looked good in the flying chamber.
Most interestingly, the NSL News met Will Pesek dirtdiving 4way moves by himself. He has taken Andy Honigbaum's XP4 slot, as the NSL News mentioned yesterday. He explained to the NSL News how this all happened. His Formation Skydiving competition career began as a videographer for Arizona Airspeed's 2005 lineup. He was filming Eliana Rodriguez, Craig Girard, Andy Delk and Brian Johnson that year. Mark Kirkby replaced Brian Johnson in 2006, and Will Pesek was filming this lineup until 2007. He switched to compete in VFS 4way a year before Airspeed won the 4way gold medals at the World Meet 2008 in France.
His team SDC Standard XP became the best VFS 4way team in the USA and the second behind France in the world. Now he is back to traditional 4way competition, but he is in front of the camera and in the middle of the action this time.
