Did You Know...

... that the Czech Rookie Class teams keep pushing each other to higher levels?

Czech Rookie Class team Sky Walkers
posted Feb 7th, 2012 - Another much smaller indoor competition took place in the Czech Republic while the NSL News focused on the Paraclete XP Indoor Championships 2012. Four teams used a Wednesday evening to complete ten rounds at Sportflight's Skydive Arena in Prague.

Organizer Jan Klapka had proudly pointed out in December last year that all of his Rookie Class teams finally scored above 10-average at the last meet of the year in the Czech Republic. The goal of the 10-average scoring level became history with the turn of the year and will only become relevant again for brandnew Rookie Class lineups.

The lowest meet averages of the Czech Rookie Class teams this year were now 10.9 at the January meet and 11.4 on February 1st.

Czech Rookie Class team TBA
TBA is one of the Rookie Class teams that attended all four indoor meets of the winter season at the Sportflight Skydive Arena and stands for the progression of the Czech Rookie Class teams. The lineup at the October meet finished ten rounds with a 7.8 average and then left the 10-average mark behind with 10.5 in December.

TBA's 12.3 average in January left the Sky Walkers with the lowest Rookie Class average of 10.9 which still beat the lowest score in December. The recent meet saw TBA with the lowest average of 11.4 which is significantly higher compared to the Sky Walkers results in January. However, Sky Walkers now outscored TBA with a 13.0 average in February.

It would be no surprise to see the lowest average go up again at the next meet, as both teams keep pushing each other forward. It is almost like on the top level of 4way competition where France and Belgium kept pushing each other to new levels last year...

USPA gold medals in 2009: VTSD/Carolina Turbo XP
In the meantime, NSL-TV has uploaded new videos of the indoor competition at Paraclete. Only the TOP 3 teams present the sequence of Round 7, while the video clip of Round 8 also shows Golden Knights Black and Carolina Turbo XP. The NSL News mentioned earlier how well the second half of the Golden Knights 8way lineup performed, and more Black footage will follow later, together with a short interview of team member Larry Miller.

Carolina Turbo XP brought to the NSL News attention that the team will also compete at the Shamrock Showdown 2012. Turbo has plans to turn the team into a long term project after the first three impressive years.

VTSD/Turbo won the USPA Intermediate Class gold medals in 2009 and followed up with Advanced Class gold medals in 2010. That was a unique achievement and happened for the first time in USPA history. Of course, it was impossible for Turbo to win the Open Class a year later. However, it remains a team goal for the future and would also be a first time ever.
