Christie Blomster completes the lineup and is in the Tail slot. She has been in the sport for an even shorter time than Kristen Johnson after making her first jump in May 2010. It was a tandem jump, and she signed up for AFF right after landing. She also bought a neon jumpsuit at the same time and was obviously hooked and committed.
She has a total of 270+ jumps now, including her first cutaway. The total of 15 hours of windtunnel training indicates that she was ready for the tryouts with her flying skills.
Christie Blomster is ready and plans to stay "laser focused" on her Tail job. She will train for it and give her best every day to meet her long term goal one day and win lots of medals, ultimately the world championship.
She works for Facebook and sees other goals for the sport, as well, which match the NSL goals. She wants to help grow the sport and get skydiving into major sporting events, such as the X Games and the Olympics. She may have more contributions for the sport than just her 4way slot with Perris Wicked.
She still draws from her one and only season so far competing in the AA/Intermediate Class. Uprising attended two meets of the Southern California Skydiving League (6.6 - 9.5) and finished in 11th place of 30 teams with a 9.5 average at the USPA Nationals 2011.
However, there is more behind her passion and addiction that she shares with many others in the competitive area of the sport, as she explains her high level of motivation: "I think it’s the ultimate sport and the ultimate form of competition for a team and an individual in every way – physically, mentally, emotionally." You cannot express this any simpler and more precisely than that...
She keeps in shape physically by running, biking and working out and likes wakeboarding most behind skydiving. Other additional loves in her life make it sound like a good foundation for a future world champion: "Music, Michael Jackson, Internet, Facebook, Lions, Neon, Spandex, Sandy Beaches, Swimsuits, Sneakers, Sandwiches and Beer."
Christy Frikken's and Hannah Betts' lineup at the Dubai Championship 2011 was called Alpha Armada. They could have just continued with the same team name, as their new lineup takes off with a healthy confidence level. Perris Wicked will compete for the first time at the World Challenge 2012 where Christie Blomster Kristen Johnson will be able see eye to eye with all other world class competitors in the female 4way category.
