Did You Know...

... that Arizona Airspeed took the 1st place at the January 2011 meet in Dubai?

NSL Talk with Thomas Hughes (left...)
posted Feb 24th, 2012 - Arizona Airspeed's Thomas Hughes discussed the results of the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011 with the NSL News in a live interview on 5 December 2011.

He said that his team was just beginning with the first training camp after the USPA Nationals 2011 and that the competition draw of the 3rd Dubai Championship would surely be a part of the upcoming Airspeed training.

Thomas Hughes was impressed with the performance of Aerodyne Aerokart from France and NMP-PCH Hayabusa from Belgium, and there was a good reason.

The NSL News evaluated the Dubai results and crunched some numbers for the Blue Skies Mag contribution, which was posted on 4 January 2012. Airspeed was in trouble.

Niklas Daniel with Airspeed at the Valentine's Meet 2011
The NSL News did not get the videos of Airspeed's training jumps that copied the 3rd Dubai Championship. The US 4way champion took on another competition draw first.

At the end of January, videographer Niklas Daniel uploaded the eight Airspeed rounds that copied the competition draw of the 2nd Dubai Championship 2011, which took place in January last year.

France and Belgium both had also competed with their new lineups at this event, and Airspeed was there with the modified previous lineup (Eliana Rodriguez, Craig Girard, Andy Delk, John Eagle).

Mark Kirkby had recruited the new Airspeed lineup and was busy organizing the 2011 season at that time.

The new Airspeed lineup outscored the previous lineup by ten points after eight rounds in the January 2012 training camp and took the 1st place away from Hayabusa on paper.

However, that was almost a year ago for France and Belgium, and the scores of the 3rd Dubai Championship in December 2011 were a completely different story.

Impressive performance at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2012
Aerodyne Aerokart and NMP-PCH Hayabusa both performed on a significantly higher level at the second meet in Dubai last year, and then they both followed up with very impressive indoor scores last weekend in Paris.

Airspeed's training scores of January 2012 would not even be close to the current French and Belgium level.

However, things have changed and become much better on the Airspeed side, as well.

The indoor performance at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championships 2012 was more than convincing, and Airspeed also followed up with impressive outdoor scores at the Valentine's Meet 2012.

Airspeed's videos of the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship have been shown on NSL-TV. It would now be more interesting to see the videos of the Valentine's Meet. The training jumps of January 2012 are history...
