Polaris after a training jump
The top contender in the female 4way competition, Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders from France, competed at the same indoor event where Hayabusa posted the 33.1 average. They had ended up right behind the three reigning world champions of Deep Blue Aerokart (Sophie Deremaux, Bérangère Duplouy, Françoise Simons-Hamouchi) whose gold medals they try to defend. Amélie Tirman is the only returning and defending world champion of 2010 in the new lineup.

French coach Marin Ferre said that his Open Class lineup, Aerodyne Aerokart, arrives shortly before the competition begins and stays for a week of training after the meet. Arizona Airspeed is also scheduled to to arrive a few days before the first meet day next Friday.

Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders are training side by side with the Norwegian national 4way team, Polaris. The Polaris lineup has not changed since the team started at the beginning of the 2010 season. XL member Steve Hamilton is still working with the Norwegian team, which has the Chair of the IPC Formation Skydiving Committee in the lineup, Trude Sviggum.

Coaches Gary Smith and Steve Hamilton
Gary Smith provided an overview of the recent activities in DeLand live on NSL Reality TV, and Steve Hamilton had a few words for the NSL News audience, as well.

Today was also the first training day for Black Cat from Russia. It is exactly the same lineup of the USPA Nationals 2011 that competes at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012, including the three 8way world champions of 2001 (Vasily Korotkov, Alexey Minaev, Evgeny Staschenko) who the NSL News mentioned in the last story of the Russian 8way history.

The NSL News will continue with daily updates of new arrivals in DeLand. The event begins with the reception and competition draw on Thursday next week, and the first five rounds of 4way competition follow on Friday morning. The 8way competition is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
