Did You Know...

... that Perris Wicked needs a new Point?

Annie Peterson with Christy Frikken and Hannah Betts for Alpha Armada at the 2nd Dubai Championship in January 2011
posted Mar 25th, 2012 - The NSL News reported on 22 February 2012 that the first Perris Wicked lineup was complete and introduced the second new team member, Christie Blomster. The other newly recruited Perris Wicked member, Kristen Johnson, had been introduced on 9 February 2012.

Christy Frikken recently informed the NSL News that one slot is open again, as Kristen Johnson does not continue with Perris Wicked. She and Hannah Betts are looking for a new member to fill the Point slot. Annie Peterson steps in for the Perris Wicked trip to the United Kingdom where the team will still compete at the World Challenge 2012.

Annie Peterson is a former Arizona Divewerkz member who also competed with Alpha Armada at the 2nd Dubai Championship in January 2011. Christy Frikken and Hannah Betts were her Alpha Armada team mates, together with Becky Broacto. Christy Frikken explained the current situation:

On track with Perris Wicked: Christie Blomster
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, Perris Wicked is still looking for a fourth team member. The season has been very productive since the group started in February and has experienced impressive progress. As is typical for many beginning 4way teams, the ups and downs sometimes involve changes early on." Perris Wicked plans to continue with the double player coach team, managed by Hannah Betts and Christy Frikken. They have the same goal of helping two younger jumpers achieve world class status in a very short period of time. Christy Frikken said that the project is on track:

"The third Perris Wicked member, Christie Blomster, is well on the way to achieving this with the group. The remaining members are fully committed to the same goal, and with the bulk of the training season remaining they fully expect to realize this goal."

Last US national team for Menzelinsk 2010: Spaceland Blue
The Perris Wicked project is set to be a single year commitment with the player coaching concept. However, Christy Frikken's and Hannah Betts' intention is for the team to continue beyond the player coach phase to become a full fledged team in 2013, ideally qualifying as the US national female team to attend the World Championship of Formation Skydiving in 2014.

Christy Frikken explained once again what she and her player coach partner are looking for: "Our perfect fit is a hard worker who wants to dedicate as much energy as we do into improving 4-way skills. Experience is not a large factor, as our Tail has only 350 jumps, and since we are planning on creating another strong female flyer within the US."

She said that the Perris Wicked lineup for the World Challenge 2012 with Annie Peterson allows the team members to continue boosting their skills while searching for an ideal fit for the project: "We are asking all potential female candidates, regardless of their experience, to contact Hannah Betts for more information. She also added that *all team members need to be eligible to compete for the USA by 2013".
