Did You Know...

... that the videos of Round 1 are available with live comments?

Opening ceremony and competition draw
posted Apr 6th, 2012 - The opening ceremony of the World Challenge 2012 on Friday morning took place in a crowded FlowHouse. 80 teams in 4way and more than 10 additional Freeflying teams were present for the welcome note by Paul Mayer and the competition draw.

The judges used the same cubes for the competition draw that came out of the hat at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012. It was a live draw, and it did not generate a Super Sequence. The teams have to go through an average 10-round competition draw.

The teams had approximately one hour after the competition draw to get ready for Round 1, which was scheduled for 10 AM. It was obviously a very busy hour when 80 teams tried to prepare their competition jumps properly.

Then it was time for the big 4way show. It will take a little while until the complete scores for Round 1 will be available. The NSL Reality TV camera went ahead of judging time and captured the jumps of the TOP 10 teams in the AAA Open Class, plus the top contenders in the female 4way category, from the perspective of the live audience at Bodyflight Bedford. The videos can already be reviewed, and the scores will be posted as soon as possible.

Arizona Airspeed, NMP-PCH Hayabusa and Aerodyne Aerokart delivered as it was expected, and the scores for Round 1 will be close. Airspeed and Hayabusa may have outscored the French team in the meet opener. Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders, Just4Fun and ISB Air Remscheid seem to be going with the same pace in the female 4way category. The French team had the cleanest round.

The NSL News did something new this time and introduced and commented the teams and performances live during the flying session. It will hopefully help to learn more about the teams and the competition while it is happening.
