Did You Know...

... that the next rules issue questions a reflying session?

No helmet troubles for Arizona Airspeed
posted Apr 7th, 2012 - Incidents continue at the World Challenge 2012. The discussion of the French 7-point damage and the re-judging situation had hardly settled when the next controversial situation occured.

One of the three British 4way teams in the female category, Just4Fun, had some equipment troubles in Round 7. A helmet's viser opened up before the working time was over. The team was asking for a new flying session and got it. The 21-pointer turned into a 24-pointer on the scoreboard, and the UK team maintained the 3-point lead before going into Round 8. The first 21-pointer would have tied Just4Fun and Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders in 1st place, with ISB Air Remscheid two points behind.

Flying and skydiving equipment is responsibility of the teams and competitors under the current IPC rules. Allowing rejumps or reflying sessions under such circumstances is critical and very unusual.

Blue Rebels Family from Greece
Arizona Airspeed settled the issue with Aerodyne Aerokart in their own and a much better way. The French team was three points ahead of Airspeed after getting five points back this morning. Airspeed then won Round 6 by one point and Round 7 by three points and was back in front of France. However, NMP-PCH Hayabusa still moves point by point further away from Airspeed and France both.

NSL Reality TV featured AA Class leader Hyrrokkin in Round 7 and caught the team during a weak performance. It turned out that the British team lost its second round and ended up with an 11-pointer that allowed DNOUT from Italy to catch up. The Hyrrokkin members took it easy while the NSL News felt bad about possibly distracting the team.

The Rookie Class teams on the top of the leaderboard are in the middle of another horse race. The Blue Rebels Family from Greece won the last three rounds and are now one point ahead of UK team Fiasco after losing nine points in Round 2. Greek has another 4way team competing in the A Class, the Blue Rebels. Round 9 will begin very soon.
