It was not a happy story at this point in time. Hyrrokkin had the worst round of the meet and lost three points in addition to a few hickups. The 11-pointer on the scoreboard allowed the team in 2nd place, DNOUT from Italy, to catch up with the leader after six rounds. The NSL News apologized to the Hyrrokkin members for the possible distraction, but the spiritful team had no problem with the situation.
In fact, Hyrrokkin was also lucky since DNOUT had a bad round, as well, and lost even four points in the judging room. However, it was a tie for the top position after Round 7. Both teams recovered well and posted great scores in Round 8, with DNOUT winning the round by two points and taking the lead away from Hyrrokkin for the first time. Hyrrokkin member Karen Nielsen then recalled the rest of the meet for the NSL News:

I think we put our all into that last session, so much that I had a nose bleed when we came out. I'm blaming the air pressure but my team mates are still ribbing me... We hoped our gamble would at least increase our average and we all left the chamber on a real high - but when we made our way up to the bar we were told to go prepare for a jump off. We couldn't believe it.
An hour later, we still didn't know for sure if we would need to fly again but we knew the scores must be close. Finally, Paul announced that only the Rookie Class would have a jump off round and we smiled at each other - happy with the thought of a silver medal. A few minutes later the screens started to play the AA Class rounds.
16 points flashed up on the bright blue screen and we all screemed and cheered. I'm not sure if others in the room knew what all the commotion was about but it didn't matter, we'd snatched one extra point making us the overall winners in the AA Class. The most intense competition I have ever taken part in!
Experiencing such a close competition and knowing that we could pull through from what felt like a terrible jump and still get a great result will give us lots of confidence as we progress through the season. We couldn't have wished for a better first competition together - the rollercoaster of emotions and scores was incredible. This wouldn't have been the case if fantastic teams like DNOUT, Airplay and all the others hadn't shown up. All credit to Bodyflight for making the competition so appealing to such a wide range of teams. We're still enjoying the feeling of winning gold." Congratulations, Hyrrokkin.
