posted May 20th, 2012 - New scores from seven teams in Germany have been added to this weekend's overall leaderboard. The German teams completed eight rounds, and the NSL leaderboard ranks the teams by the total number of points. Three German teams are now in the top rankings, however, the standings are misleading if the completed number of rounds are different.

NPSL team Acme was actually tied with Airfix Fehrbellin, the AAA Class leader, after six rounds. The meet average also does not provide a much better picture since the sequences for Round 7 (A,L,M,11) and Round 8 (7,G,K,J) were the fastest ones of this weekend's competition draw, and the NPSL teams were set to finish the meet after only six rounds.

There is also a difference in the competition draw for the AA Class teams. The German dive pool for the second category is not identical with the NSL, and the German leaderboard below shows the sequences that were applied at TakeOff Fehrbellin, host of the this weekend's first part of the Nord Cup.

Airfix Fehrbellin, Wolf Pack and Black Moon continued their 3-team battle of 2011 in exactly the same order as at both meets of last year's Nord Cup. There is a difference this year though, as all three teams have moved much closer to each other.

The 7-point difference between 1st and 3rd place in May 2011 and the 23-point difference in September was down to six points this weekend. Black Moon of 2011 (9.1 - 9.6 - 8.2 - 9.8) has picked up the pace and launched the 2012 season with a new 11.4 record average. Airfix Fehrbellin, 3-time winner of this internal German battle, launched the 2012 season on the same scoring level as at the end of the 2011 season (11.0 - 10.9 - 12.0) while Wolf Pack (10.2 - 10.4 - 10.7 - 10.8) is also catching up step by step. The ranking order between those three teams may change this year for the first time.

Drachenfeuer increased the team's meet average by a point, as well. The second leg of the Nord Cup is scheduled for the 15 September weekend.
