Did You Know...

... that John Kretzschmer is the new Center Outside for Cosmic Debris?

NPSL crowd during a wind hold
posted May 25th, 2012 - The NSL News reported on 18 May 2012 that the teams of the Northern Plains Skydiving League got ready for their season opener last weekend. It also included the preview of a movie in the works, "Beyond the Thrill".

The story on 19 May 2012 was a live update from Skydive Twin Cities, host of the first NPSL meet this year. The windy weather did not allow the completion of all six rounds, however, the NSL News came back with a lot of footage of competition jumps and other meet activities.

The aftermath begins with the competition videos of the team that the NSL News introduced with the first story, HTH. The team has changed the name to Cosmic Debris with the new lineup and took the top spot of the AA Class leaderboard last weekend.

John Kretzschmer with FlewID in 2010
John Kretzschmer is the new Center Outside for Cosmic Debris. He is one of the many 4way competitors that the Northern Plains Skydiving League has brought up over the years. Miles Hubbard, an NPSL 4way veteran who still enjoys the NPSL meets on a regular basis, took John Kretzschmer under his wings a few years ago, and Merriah Eakins continued with FlewID guidance in 2010.

The new 4way fan advanced quickly and now had his opportunity to join a promising team. Cosmic Debris needed a new Center Outside when Kaleb Lomwen had to step back after a landing accident last year that he is still recovering from. HTH/Cosmic Debris had planned to compete in the AA/Intermediate Class at the USPA Nationals 2011 and finally canceled the trip to Eloy.

Eventually, the team decided to attend the NSL Championship at SkyQuest 2011 where Kurt Gaebel filled the Center Outside slot for the meet.

Solly Williams, Andy Junghans, John Goswitz
John Kretzschmer joined the team this year, and the new Cosmic Debris lineup was complete. However, Center Inside Andy Junghans has recently been dealing with a shoulder injury that he needs to get fixed before the team training kicks in with full force. Cosmic Debris plans once again to compete at the USPA Nationals 2012, and he needs a healthy shoulder to challenge the medal positions.

November 2011 substitute Kurt Gaebel was on site for the NSL News and filled the Center Inside slot this time for the new lineup. The scores indicate that Cosmic Debris could be in contention for USPA 2012 medals if the team will be healthy enough with the complete lineup at the end of October in Eloy.

Andy Junghans was present at the NPSL season opener where meet coach Solly Williams provided his feedback and coaching advice for all Cosmic Debris members. Andy Junghans will be ready to step back in on the driver's seat very soon. In the meantime, he was helping the team with the meet logistics and the Lenstory film crew do their work for the movie. The NSL News will follow up with more NPSL footage soon.
