posted May 29th, 2012 - May is still an early date for a skydiving event in Finland due to the Scandinavian weather. Last year, the 4way teams even tried to run a 4way competition in April, and two teams barely managed to complete two rounds.

The 2012 season began a month later and three 4way teams completed up to nine rounds at the skydiving club in Utti. The Parachuting Club of Finland, located in Helsinki, is mainly using the Utti Airport this year after facing difficulties at the previous locations, first in Helsinki-Malmi, then in Hanko.

One of the three teams took on the AAA Class competition draw with several slot switchers and memory sequences. Honeymoon, with Center Inside Merja Takala and Center Outside Pasi Takala, may have chosen the new team name due to their relationship and finished with a very respectable 4.3 average after nine rounds.

Two other teams from Finland competed over five rounds in the A Class competition. Umppa Lumpat is back with a different lineup after competing at the national championships last year and picked up the pace at about the same level. Only the zero in Round 5 kept the team from also posting very similar numbers.

Lasse Riikola and Antti Jokela were Umppa Lumpat members in 2011, and Janne Lindstedt continues filming the team. Ulla Jämsä was the team's alternate at the national championships last year and now had her own slot last weekend. Pauli Sillanpää is a new 2012 member.

Two more meets are scheduled before the 4way teams from Finland will compete for the 2012 championship title in August. The Pro Team is still the reigning champion after winning the Finish Nationals in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
