Did You Know...

... that the Dutch 4way teams move up the competition classes in different ways?

AA Class winner Cool Runnings
posted Jun 20th, 2012 - The NSL News mentioned last weekend's AA Class competition at the Tomscat Trophy only on Saturday after the scores of the first three rounds were uploaded. Nothing changed in the rankings of the medal positions after that, and Cool Runnings won the 1st place quite easily.

However, there was a serious battle between the two other teams who returned to the Dutch 2012 season in the same category as in 2011. Habanero and Murphy Mania were separated by only one single point after Round 3 and were still tied in 2nd place after Round 6 and exchanging blows round by round. Habanero won three of the first six rounds, Murphy Mania two, one round was tied.

Round 7 was not completed by all AA Class teams and turned out to be unofficially a jump-off round between Habanero and Murphy Mania.

Rookie Class team Whooops
Last weekend's three AA Class medal winners in the Netherlands have known each other for years, as they have been moving through the different categories in their own ways. The same three AA Class teams had finished in the same order (9.6 - 9.1 - 7.4) in 2011. The history of the same teams before 2011 was different though.

Murphy Mania competed in the A Class competition of 2010 when Cool Runnings was in the team's first AA Class season. Habanero did not compete in 2010 after a AA Class year in 2009. That was the year when Cool Runnings and Murphy Mania went at each other in the A Class competition, together with current AAA Class team Creeps.

Murphy Mania and Creeps go even further back, as they competed together in the Dutch Rookie Class of 2008, together with 4igami. Habanero was also competing in the AA Class of 2008, after the first season in the A Class of 2007. That was also the Whooops year in the A Class. Cool Runnings was a Rookie Class team that year. Only Whooops started even two years earlier, in the Rookie Class of 2005.

Rookie Class team 4igami
Last weekend's Dutch AA Class teams behind the three medal winners are all new in this category, and the competition between this 4some was a hot battle throughout the six/seven rounds. Each team posted or tied at least one highscore for a single round. The total shows the situation after Round 6, and the scores of Round 7 would have brought more changes to the leaderboard.

4igami and Pari-Passu have a long history in the Dutch 4way competition, as well, while Supernova and Buddies are new lineups. 4igami started together with Cool Runnings in the Rookie Class of the Tomscat Trophy 2007 and followed up with three more years in the same category at the Tomscat Trophy. Pari-Passu eventually joined 4igami in the Rookie Class of 2009 and moved up into the Dutch A Class competition in 2010.

Both teams competed together in the A Class last year and now stepped up together into the AA Class competition, while new teams have been forming in the Dutch Rookie Class and A Class. Whooops, Rookie Class team of 2005 and 2006, is now the national 4way team for the Netherlands...
