... that ISB Air Remscheid 2way videos show top pace?

VIVA 8way lineup at the World Cup 2011
posted Jul 12th, 2012 - The new meet weekend is around the corner, and it will be a busy one with six meets in six different countries, including France and the United Kingdom. The NSL News goes back one more time to last weekend's competition in Germany, the Paranodon Cup 2012.

The meet story explained the EADS lineup except one slot. Tail Göran Meyer was not available, and Enrico Piffaretti took his slot for the meet. He is a Swiss competitor who trains and competes with VIVA, the national 4way and 8way team for Switzerland.

The VIVA 8way lineup competed at the World Cup 2011 and had a good race with the German 8way team EADS. Both teams were tied in 4th place through Round 5 and before EADS picked up the pace. VIVA did not compete in 4way at the World Cup.

ISB Air Remscheid 2way lineup: Annekathrin Heinrich and Petra van Overveld
EADS with Enrico Piffaretti needed a few jumps to master the exits with a different lineup and high exit speed of the jump plane. Team videographer Andi Troegele confirmed that Tail Göran Meyer will be back for the German Nationals 2012 in August.

The second half of the German 8way team will need all 4way pieces in place to get the silver medals that new team member Thomas Mack won with Final Four last year. His former team will not try to defend the 2nd place, however, another 4way challenger is not only looking at the 2nd place. ISB Air Remscheid, Germany's 4way team in the female category, is ready to make it as difficult as possible for the national 4way team, Paratec-Saar, to win the gold medals.

The NSL News reported on 29 June 2012 that ISB Air Remscheid members Annekathrin Heinrich and Petra van Overveld attended the annual nationwide 2way competition in Magdeburg, host of the inauguralSkyQuest Germany 2012. NSL-TV now follows up with the 2way videos, provided by Magdeburg videographer Jörg Busch.

German dinosaurs: Paranodon lineup with Jan Rojek (2nd from left)
The video shows that the ISB Air Remscheid members apply a pace that matches all other German 4way top competitors. The main question in the race for the Open Class top spot in Germany is which team will be best prepared at the right time. Paratec-Saar has been together with the same lineup for many years and is the defending World Cup bronze medalist. Three ISB Air Remscheid members have grown up together in 4way, and Petra van Overveld has made the team only stronger. It will be interesting in Germany in August, and even the silver medal will be a high goal.

Andi Troegele also reported that the team in 2nd place at the Paranodon Cup, Neva, had a good meet after the desastrous Round 1 and finished withhout any penalties. He said that the Paranodon lineup deserved special attention, as well: "They are true dinosaurs. The three AAA Class teams in the plane together combined for over 80,000 jumps." By the way: Paranodon's Jan Rojek and EADS' Thomas Spielvogel trained and competed together years ago. They won gold in 4way and 8way at the German Nationals 1988, together with Kurt Gaebel and Alwin Ampssler. Thomas Spielvogel and Kurt Gaebel moved on to compete for Germany at the World Meet 1989 in Spain.

He did not mention that one of the German dinosaurs is his father, Robert Troegele, who competed in 4way and 8way in the early 80s. However, Andreas Troegele was filming the EADS lineup and not his dad's Paranodon lineup.

Has to share top spot after Round 6: Pack-Flott
Last not least, the AA Class overall leaderboard needed an adjustment, as well.

As with the other two leaderboards in the AAA Class and the Rookie Class, the additional four rounds in Germany changed the averages and rankings to the advantage of the German teams. Only the A Class leaderboard remained unchanged, as no teams completed more than six rounds.

Germany's AA Class team Pack-Flott did not have to give up the top spot, however, is has to share it with the Hawks after six rounds. The German team won two rounds, as the Hawks did at the Midwest Skydiving League meet. They tied the other two rounds and both ended up with 50 points and 8.3 meet averages after Round 6.
