Did You Know...

... that Denmark's project teams will be challenged more than ever this year?

Challenger: Airplay
posted Jul 13th, 2012 - It happened again - as it happens pretty much on any given meet weekend when the NSL front page displays a new competition draw and follows up with the scores of the according meets as soon as possible. Teams at many other locations on the planet use the same draw for their training purposes and compare their own scores with the posted ones.

This time, two teams from Denmark copied the indoor competition draw of the training meet at Bodyflight Bedford that the NSL News reported on 5 July 2012. Three teams from Denmark and Fire from Sweden had met in Bedford for a training camp that concluded with a 10-round meet.

Chute ME and Airplay had their own indoor training shortly after the scores were posted and decided to go through the same competition draw. Airplay's player coach Kjetil Nordin provided the scores and some insights..

Project team: Contrails
There is a good reason why the Danish teams are in full training swing at this point in time. Their national championships are just around the corner, and the teams have paid attention to each other's performance status. The NSL News mentioned on 24 May 2012 that the AAA Class competition might be very exciting at this year's Danish Nationals, as several teams seem to be close to each other.

This does not count for the national team Bodyflight Voluntas who will most likely walk away with the gold medals. However, there could be a horse race for the 2nd place between several different teams.

The new leaderboard above shows the Danish teams who have completed the same draw within the last month. VAF was just a pickup team for the indoor meet, while three of the other four teams finished within six points after ten rounds.

Project team: Veyron
None of the teams on the leaderboard are part of the Danish 4way project though, and the competition at the national championships will be even more exciting, as the other teams will surely challenge the official project teams, especially the B-Team (Veyron) and the C-Team (Contrails).

Contrails and Veyron will naturally both be competitive for the 2nd place at the Danish Nationals 2012. In fact, the project team usually take the first three places, with a few exceptions over the years. Both teams have posted outdoor scores this year, Contrails at the April meet of the Florida Skydiving League (10.3) and Veyron at a training meet (13.3) with Whooops from the Netherlands during a training camp in DeLand.

However, the other Danish AAA Class teams seem to be more competitive and better prepared to challenge the project teams than ever before. The national championships are scheduled to begin this weekend, and the NSL News will cover this national showdown between the project teams and the challengers. It's an outdoor competition this time, and the indoor scores will be history next week...
