Did You Know...

... that FSL teams and competitors are now waiting for NWSL scores?

Coach Keith Walter oversees a SOCOM dirtdive...
posted Jul 23rd, 2012 - The new leaderboard of last weekend's events begins to take shape, even though the weather did not make it very easy. Teams in Florida managed to complete several rounds, while the Karp Cup of the MidAtlantic Skydiving League was completely weathered out.

MASL Director Dennis Miller reported that six teams were ready for action, and only two of them were able to do the first round. Two additional teams had cancelled earlier due to the forecast, and it turned out to be a wise decision, as the Karp Cup was officially postponed after five hours of weather hold. The next MASL meet on August 11 is the new date for the annual event.

Dennis Miller added that three A Class teams were ready to go at it and will regroup on the 11th. Two of those teams scored 8-pointers in the opening round and local Cross Keys team Flashpoint is on the same scoring level. Dennis Miller is now looking for some close competition in August.

...and a creeping session
The FSL teams were just a little bit luckier with the weather and completed up to six rounds in the AA Class. Miami Exuberance attended the team's fourth meet this year, which is still the top number at the moment. Jane McGuire visited for the meet, and the team's 5way for the meet switched slots in the rear piece round by round to get everybody in the air. The 6.8 average still became the highest Exuberance score of the 2012 season, and the 10-pointer in Round 2 is the first 2-digit score for a round.

Trevor Cedar used to work and compete for Skydive Miami before he moved to DeLand last year. Now he competed with the Teiwaz AA Class lineup against his former Miami mentor, Pam Manos, who is the Point for Exuberance. The Miami team was one point ahead of Teiwaz after Round 4.

Skydive City team Zunday, with four participants of the monthly FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando, recorded a new record average of the 2012 season, as well. The 9-pointer in Round 2 is also the highest score for a single round this year

Sarah Hernandez and Matt Hillson at the July Tunnel Kicker
Two more teams from Skydive City competed in the Rookie Class, and coach Keith Walter guided his SOCOM Commandos lineup through the fourth meet of the year. Twelve different SOCOM members have now contributed to post SOCOM scores at the four meets.

FSL Tunnel Kicker participants Sarah Hernandez and Matt Hillson now also followed up with their first outdoor competition in the Rookie Class.

Their team Not Yet outscored the SOCOM Commandos by one point after four rounds in the Rookie Class.

Sarah Hernandez and Matt Hillson with Not Yet
Meet Director Bob Byrne reported that Sarah Hernandez and Matt Hillson had approached him following the last Tunnel Kicker in July where they met and flew together.

Craig Sagalow and David MacAdam, both participants of the Z-Scrambles, completed the new Rookie Class lineup.

The August Tunnel Kicker is coming up for the FSL competitors at iFLY Orlando on August 7th, and the next outdoor meet is scheduled for August 25th. FSL teams and competiors are now waiting for indoor and outdoor scores from iFLY Seattle and the Northwest Skydiving League.
