Did You Know...

... that Satori completed six rounds in two hours?

Satori delegation in Hibaldstow
posted Jul 27th, 2012 - The NSL News story on 21 July 2012 covered the recent competition at Hibaldstow in the UK, host of the national championships. Seven Satori Academy teams attended the competition, a very impressive number, and the story featured the A Class with three Satori lineups.

The story also mentioned that Satori's national team (Julia Foxwell, Aaron Faith, Ian Hodgkinson, John McIver, with Dave Head on camera) was planning to do the meet jumps after all teams werde done for the day, and the scores would be added later. The judges had a very long day, too, and the Satori scores were still posted on the UK leaderboard the same night.

The leaderboard shows the seven AAA Class teams this time. A total of 31 teams had used the last opportunity for competition practice before the upcoming national championships.

Satori scoring progression
It was a tough deal at the end of the day for UK's national 4way team in the Open Class. Satori had 20-minute turnaround times for the first three rounds. That was not quick enough to complete the six meet rounds before darkness. Satori picked up the pace and did back-to-back loads from then on. All six rounds were completed within two hours.

The extraordinary meet conditions did not seem to slow down Satori too much, as the meet videos show. In fact, UK's national team beat their own meet average at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012 by a point.

Satori's scoring chart since 2008 shows the team with a new upswing. The record average of 22.0 was posted at the World Meet 2010 where a Super Sequence boosted the results for all teams. Satori attended only one outdoor competition in 2011, the national championships, and this year will be much busier. At least three more meets are on the team agenda, the UK Nationals, the World Cup and the Mondial 2012 in Dubai. The Satori chart will grow, and the curve will most likely continue to go up.

Eclipse 2010 lineup in the A Class
As last year, Escondido launched the team's competition season with the first meet in July and picked up the pace on the same level as in 2011. Only a slow Round 2 kept the team further away from Bodyflight Aerodyne Langar than at last year's national championships.

Eclipse is a newcomer in this year's AAA Class competition after competing in the A Class in 2010 and in the AA Class in 2011. The team's 11.4 average in the AAA Class last weekend matches last year's AA Class results at UK Nationals almost exactly.

Karmic Bitchslap was formed this year and launched the 2012 season at the World Challenge 2012. Last weekend's competition in Hibaldstow was the team's second outdoor meet with a higher average than in June and a new highscore fore a single round with the 16-pointer in Round 5. The UK Nationals 2012 are scheduled for the August 11 weekend.
