Did You Know...

... that the Florida Skydiving League has one more day to improve the scores?

FSL vs. NWSL indoor and outdoor showdown in July
posted Jul 30th, 2012 - The July showdown between the Northwest Skydiving League and the Florida Skydiving League included a live outdoor competition and the virtual indoor meet at iFLY Orlando and iFLY Seattle.

The outdoor competition is over and was tied between the A Class and Rookie Class teams where each league produced one winning team. The Northwest Skydiving League did not recruit a AAA Class team for the July meet, and no teams competed in the AA Class at either location.

The indoor competition is not over yet, as it finishes officially on July 31st. However, the NWSL teams may be too far away for the teams from Florida, who will probably not be able to catch up with one more day to go. The NSL News had introduced the indoor project between both 4way communities with the story on 6 July 2012.

Sinner G in A Class action at iFLY Seattle
It is a very exciting situation at the moment in the four traditional categories (AAA - AA - A - Rookie) where the lineups of the Northwest Skydiving League are currently one single point ahead of the FSL teams.

Florida had a 6-point lead in those four categories before the Sinner G improved the A Class score from 14 to 21 points by providing a new video of the same sequence.

The delegations of both leagues have the opportunity to improve the scores for all sequences until the deadline, which is July 31st this month. Video evidence has to be provided to get a better score, and the lineups have to continue within their categories.

Florida still has the upper hand in the AAA and AA Class at the moment. However, it is more difficult to score higher in the categories with the slower sequences. The Florida delegation has to focus on the A Class and Rookie Class categories if the teams still want to become the first winner of the new project.

Pressure on the FSL delegation
The three Rookie Class categories are making the big difference to the advantage of the NWSL delegation.

The FSL Rookie Class lineup of the traditional outdoor category with three random formations is still holding a 1-point lead over the NWSL lineup. After that, the NWSL teams are in total control of the other two Rookie Class categories where they win by a total of 25 points. The Rookie AA Class begins with a Star and allows two player coaches in the lineup. The Rookie A Class has a Star at the beginning of the sequence and then includes only one additional random formation. As in the Rookie AA Class, two player coaches are flying with two beginners.

The scores of all six indoor categories combine for the overall results of each delegation. NWSL Director Deb Coreia and FSL Director Kurt Gaebel work together to determine the winner by the end of each month. The sequences change at the beginning of a new month, and there will be an overall winner for the 2012 season by the end of the year. Florida has one more day to work on winning the July competition...
