Did You Know...

... that the Florida delegation had the first iFLY session of August last night?

Message to the NWSL/iFLY Seattle delegation: Ari Perelman
posted Aug 8th, 2012 - Teams, competitors and new skydivers of the Florida Skydiving League met once again on a Tuesday evening at iFLY Orlando to improve their individual skills and train for the monthly indoor showdown with the Northwest Skydiving League at iFLY Seattle.

FSL Tunnel Kicker head coach Ari Perelman, who is also a freeflying expert and recently participated in the head down world record formation at Skydive Chicago, had invited the group of FSL 4way and Formation Skydiving fans who would represent the FSL delegation at the first attempt to master the six new sequences for August and outscore the NWSL delegation on the other side of the country.

It is an interesting coincidence that the two US leagues that are the furthest away from each other (Southeast - Northwest) launched this indoor project together. Ari Perelman welcomed the FSL delegation with a message to the west coast that is a part of the new NSL-TV video.

Individual training first at the FSL Tunnel Kicker
The Northwest Skydiving League won the first competition in July, as the NSL News reported on 30 July 2012, due to an impressive performance on the Rookie Class level. The FSL delegation had the upper hand in the traditional NSL categories and won three of the six sequences (AAA - AA - Rookie).

The new sequences for August were posted last week, and the FSL delegation used the first 60 minutes of flying time last night to work on individual skills and then on getting familiar with the sequences of the competition.

Ari Perelman and his assistant coaches, who were Robert Chromy, Bob Byrne and Kurt Gaebel this time, also used the first 60 minutes to select the six lineups for the six sequences. The last 30 minutes of flying time were then used to perform the competition sequences as well as possible and present them to the video camera.

FSL August delegation on Tuesday night at iFLY Orlando
Team Zunday from Skydive City had the complete lineup at iFLY Orlando last night and trained for the Rookie AAA Class sequence with two player coaches before they eventually joined forced with the original lineup at show time. The video shows how Zunday and the other FSL competitors of different teams got ready for the indoor competition sequences.

The video footage of the actual competition sessions still needs to be edited and then judged before the first scores and videos of August will be posted. The NWSL teams and competitors just completed their outdoor meet last weekend and still have to schedule their indoor time. The next FSL outdoor competition is coming up in two weeks.

Complete team and lineups can also schedule their own flying time for the competition sequences independantly and then submit the footage. NWSL team Sinner G did exactly that last month and improved the NWSL A Class score significantly just in time. The FSL delegation is learning and discussed the next August session last night. The next battle is on...
