The participants had no problem killing the time though. Local skydivers were prepared to launch some fun acitivities, and one of them was a very special competition that was much related to skydiving.
It was a diving competition, and the NSL News had the camera ready when the action began. The rules required the divers to put on a gear, helmet and swim goggles, climb the stairs to the top of the pool container, rescue a closing pin from the bottom of the pool and bring it back up. Finish line was dropping the gear and raising the arms.
Then it happened all of a sudden and right before sunset that the skies cleared. It did not take very long until the first and only loads of the day were ready to go.
The pilots were ready too, and they demonstrated what they can do with their two AN 28s. Martial Ferre and Dave Lewis had joined forces, and it was time for the first formation load over Magdeburg this year. It was not only the first formation load for the jump planes in 2012. Most of the participants had not seen a jump plane formation before, and the pilots kept the AN 28s very close to each other from take-off to jump-run. Then came sunset and hope for good weather next morning.
