Did You Know...

... that CTR Optimum won the Brazilian Nationals for the 10th time?

CTR Optimum scores since 2005
posted Sep 18th, 2012 - The Brazilian Nationals 2012 did not bring any big surprises a few weeks ago. CTR Optimum won again and celebrated the team's 10th victory at the national championships. The current lineup (Daiton Ribeiro, Andre Ferraz, Fabio Diniz, Guillermo Gorg, Kalley Clementino on camera) won its second consecutive 4way title without any personnel changes.

It was the third meet for CTR Optimum this year. The Brazilian team had launched the 2012 season at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012. It was the first time that a team from Brazil competed at the spring event in DeLand.

Optimum then attended another meet at the team's home DZ in June where they posted the highest average for a 10-round meet in the team's history. This year's 16.7 average is the highest AAA Class result in the history of Brazilian national championships.

CTR Optimum was not the only team from Brazil at the first visit to DeLand. Anima had made the same spring trip from South to North America. Both teams now attended the national championships where CTR Optimum matched the March average almost exactly, while Anima went from 9.5 at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship to 10.8 at the Nationals.

CTR Optimum's 8way partners took the 2nd place at the Nationals and increased the average significantly (11.0 - 13.6) this month.

Pe de Pano won the AA Class competition at the Nationals with exactly the same meet average as in June. The AAA Class teams needed a tie breaker for the 3rd place and the AA Class teams for the silver medals.

Celebration in the Rio Negro after winning the 10th way title
CTR Optimum is now focusing on the trip to Dubai for the Mondial 2012. Team speaker Fabio Diniz, CTR Optimum's Center Inside, told the NSL News that his team plans to complete approx. 45 training jumps before the World Meet:

"I believe we can fix some small details and are waiting for something like an 18-average at the World Meet."

Fabio Diniz is one of the original CTR Optimum members. He and Center Inside Andre Ferraz have been keeping the team alive for ten years. The Mondial 2012 will be the 3rd World Meet for the team after attending the events in Germany 2006 (14.0 - 18th) and France 2008 (13.5 - 18th). CTR Optimum did not travel to Russia in 2010.
