Did You Know...

... that the Vibe members are not new to 4way competition at all?

Vibe lineup: George Katsoulis, Jane McGuire, Mikhail Markin, Christine Freiherr, Don Burnette
posted Oct 13th, 2012 - The NSL News is going back to the October meet of the Southern California Skydiving League in Elsinore. The last update included news of Perris Wicked, and the story mentioned that another team caught the attention of the NSL News.

Vibe finished with a 16.2 average after six rounds in the AAA Class, and it was not the first time that the team competed this year. The same lineup had also posted a 13.9 average at the SCSL August meet in Perris.

Christine Freiherr, Jane McGuire, Don Burnette and Mikhail Markin are not new to 4way competition at all and just put this lineup together for the 1012 season. George Katsoulis, creator of SkydivingPhotography.com has been filming the team. Uli Stuwe, former Tail of Perris Fury, is the coach.

The 16.2 average is the team's best result of the 2012 season. Vibe had copied the competition draw of the World Cup 2012 in September and completed the ten rounds with a 15.8 average, which was already impressive enough.

Coach Uli Stuwe had competed with two of the team members even earlier this year. Don Burnette and Mikhail Markin traveled with him to Bedford for the World Challenge 2012. They had Andre Van Heerden in the lineup for Rabbit Restraint and finished with a 22.0 average in 9th place.

Christine Freiherr and Jane McGuire complete the Vibe lineup. Both have attended several Florida Skydiving League meets in the past years.

Jane McGuire with Teiwaz South in 2011
Christine Freiherr trained and competed with the all-female DiZturbia lineup from Skydive City in 2009 and finished with an 11.1 average in the Advanced Class at the USPA Nationals. Then she joined different lineups here and there after DiZturbia disbanded and is now on her most promising west coast team. She still connects with the FSL crowd at meets and the FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando.

Jan McGuire trained and competed with player coach Robert Chromy at Skydive Miami in 2011. Trevor Cedar and Pam Manos were in this lineup. She had also spent a year with Tenacity in Ohio and placed 5th in the Intermediate Class at the USPA Nationals 2010 with a 10.3 average.

Vibe is now exceeding what the team members have achieved in the past in lineups without player coaching. The team would be eligible for USPA's Advanced Class competition, but the 16.2 average seems to qualify Vibe more for the Open class competition. However, the same meet average in a 10-round meet would not even be the highest one in the Advanced Class history. SDC Rhythm XP finished with a 16.9 average in 2008, and Perris Aftermath was not that far away with 15.8 in 2007.
