Did You Know...

... that the Northwest Skydiving League is currently up by one single point at iFLY Seattle?

Winning FSL group in August
posted Oct 26th, 2012 - The virtual indoor competition between the Florida Skydiving League at iFLY Orlando and the Northwest Skydiving League at iFLY Seattle is coming to the last days of the third stage, the October showdown.

It is an extremely tight race so far. Deb Correia has posted all of her scores and videos except for the AAA Class, while the first scores and videos of the Florida Skydiving League have been available for a while. The Northwest Skydiving League is currently up by one single point (96 - 95) before the missing AAA Class number. Both groups still have six days to improve their scores.

The Northwest Skydiving League won the first showdown clearly in July (110 - 84). Then the Florida Skydiving League fought back (105 - 88) and won in August with a smaller winning margin. The third monthly showdown is now the tightest race in the history of this new event.

FSL preparations at iFLY Orlando in October
Carolyn Chow, Djordje Mandaric, Denis Pershakov and David Zhang are currently winning the A Class of the Rookie category by three points. The same lineup is also responsible for the 24-pointer in the AA Class for the Rookies, which has a sequence of three Random Formations beginning with a Star. This adds up for a 10-point lead by this lineup alone.

The Florida Skydiving League wins back big time in the traditional Rookie Class (AAA) that does not have a set starting formation. James Hall, Joel Kmetz, Bob Byrne and Gilles Dutrisac are the strongest lineup that the FSL group has had in this category so far and has posted a 27-pointer winning by 11 points. Kelli Alspach, Carolyn Chow, Brittany Crolley and Erin Wenzel are scoring the 16-pointer for the NWSL group.

The total of all three Rookie Class categories puts the Florida Skydiving League up by one point.

Strong AAA Class performance by Florida
Florida's A Class lineup (James Hall, Emily Zastrow, Yvonne Saa, Brian Johnson) also won the A Class sequence clearly by five points. Carolyn Chow, Brittany Crolley, Nicolas Inzerella and Steve Platt posted the 17-pointer for the Northwest Skydiving League.

However, the AA Class lineup of the NWSL turned things around again at iFLY Seattle. Kevin Porter, Denis Pershakov, Andrey Ulanov and player coach David Zhang are currently winning this category by seven points, which brings the NWSL group back to a 1-point lead before the AAA Class scores. Skydive City's home team Zunday (Keith Murray, Sebastian Jimenez, Jon Agar, Gary Fox) posted the 13-pointer for the Florida Skydiving League.

It will still be a tough deal for the NWSL group to carry the 1-point lead over the finish line on October 31st. Florida's 18-pointer for the AAA Class sequence (Yvonne Saa, Emily Zastrow, Ari Perelman, Brian Johnson) is a good result for a challenging sequence and may bring back the final advantage to Florida. There are also six more days left to improve the scores on both sides. It's far from over yet...
