Two very special rounds: SDC Rhythm XP

posted Oct 30th, 2012 - Tuesday morning at the USPA Nationals 2012 has the remaining three rounds in 4way on the agenda. The competition draw for the 8way events was done on Monday evening, and the first rounds will be completed on Tuesday afternoon.

The NSL News goes back one more time to the action on Monday. SDC Rhythm XP videographer Alex Bittner provided the videos of the two jumps that were quite special for the team, Round 1 and Round 4. The NSL News mentioned the sensational meet opener earlier where Rhythm tied Arizona Airspeed's 30-pointer after a 1-point deduction for the US national team.

SDC Rhythm XP and Arizona Airspeed have been competing with and against each other for one year with the current lineups. Rhythm has never been able to win or tie a round in the last two years where the teams met several times at indoor and outdoor meets. In fact, the closest Rhythm ever came were 1-point differences, two times at the USPA Nationals 2011 and two more times this year at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championships 2012 and the World Challenge 2012.

Not shaken too much: Arizona Airspeed headquarters
Then came the USPA Nationals 2012, and the very first round brought the change that Rhythm has been working on for a long time. Rhythm has caught up with the best team in the USA and arguably in the world - at least for a round here and there and on the official leaderboard.

Rhythm provided more evidence a few rounds later and also outscored Airspeed for the first time in team history in Round 4. It happened only after point deductions for Airspeed, as the US national team also lost a point in Round 1. However, Airspeed has had other weaker rounds at previous events, and Rhythm was not able to take advantage of it - until yesterday. It did not shake Airspeed too much who focuses mainly on the Mondial 2012. However, Rhythm's confidence and scoring level is surely rising.

The NSL News features the two special rounds and will follow up with the best Airspeed footage later. The new NSL Reality TV clip also includes comments by Cosmic Debris coach Solly Williams on his team's performance.
