Did You Know...

... that Florida had eight lineups for six sequences at iFLY Orlando last Tuesday?

FSL Tunnel Kikcer participants at iFLY Orlando
posted Nov 10th, 2012 - The 3rd virtual indoor showdown between the Florida Skydiving League at iFLY Orlando and the Northwest Skydiving League at iFLY Seattle was completed on October 31st, and the FSL teams and competitors outscored the NWSL group for the second time.

The Northwest Skydiving League had taken the lead with a victory for iFLY Seattle (110 - 84) at the inaugural showdown in July. The Florida Skydiving League fought back in August (105 - 88) and tied the overall competition of the 2012 season.

The NWSL group posted the highest total score this year (112) for the month of October, but it wasn't enough to win since Florida also increased the total number of points for the third time (84 - 105 - 123) in a row. Florida is now up by a point (2 - 1) after three months. The NWSL community at iFLY Seattle still has the opportunity to win this year's first annual showdown by winning the remaining two meets for November and December.

Free 1-on-1 coaching for new flyers
The Florida Skydiving League now took on the new November draw at the monthly FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando last Tuesday night.

The participants used the major part of the training camp to work on their individual skills and 4way techniques before head coach Ari Perelman selected the lineups to post the first scores for this month's virtual indoor 4way competition with the Northwest Skydiving League at iFLY Seattle.

The event attracted once again new skydivers, and the training included 1-on-1 sessions for new indoor flyers as well as the competition sequences later the same night. Ari Perelman had assistant coaches Brian Johnson, Gilles Dutrisac, Bob Byrne and Kurt Gaebel by his side who took turns as player coaches with the different 4way lineups and for the 1-on-1 training.

The number of participants exceeded the number of slots for the six competition lineups this time. Ari Perelman decided to put together two different lineups for the A Class sequence of the Rookie Class category, and he did the same for the traditional A Class sequence to include as many participants of the FSL Tunnel Kicker in the competition as possible.

Ari Perelman and his assistant coaches then formed their own lineup for the AAA Class sequence. Ari Perelman had just returned from the USPA Nationals 2012 where he had competed with AZ Plosion in the Open Class. Player coach Gilles Dutrisac had also competed in the Open Class as a member of Fastrax J3.

The FSL/iFLY Orlando videos for November's virtual indoor competition have not been judged and uploaded yet. This will happen very soon, and the NWSL teams and competitors will get the first idea what to deal with this month. Then it will be their turn to counter the FSL scores at iFLY Seattle.
