Did You Know...

... that JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz explain the current Rhythm situation and the Rhythm Raffle?

Player coaches: JaNette Lefkowitz with Robert Chromy in DeLand
posted Nov 21st, 2012 - The NSL News story on 9 November 2012 covered SDC Rhythm XP's situation after the USPA Nationals 2012. JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz had announced that Tail Thiago Gomes and Center Inside Chris Farina would not continue with the team.

It was bad news for the Lefkowitz couple and their own team, which has been extremely successful since they started with the first lineup in 2007 when Robert Chromy was the team's player coach. JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz themselves are now very popular player coaches for the Rhythm team project, and the bad news were good news at the same time in many ways.

It begins with the evaluation of the Rhythm progression over the years, which the NSL News provided with the same story. Most importantly, JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz are not discouraged at all and began to look at new plans right away while moving forward with the Rhythm coaching projects.

Live NSL Talk: JaNete and Steve Lefkowitz, Alex Bittner
The 2012 season was not over yet for two of the Rhythm project teams, SDC Flow and SDC Force, who had the NSL Championship of SkyQuest Florida 2012 on the meet schedule at the end of the year. It was a perfect opportunity for the NSL News to catch up with JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz and Rhythm videographer Alex Bittner.

The first video features all ten competition rounds at the USPA Nationals 2012, and the second one a live NSL Talk with the three team members during the competition in DeLand.

In fact, it became a 5way conversation when SDF Flow member Courtney Lee joined the live NSL Talk and talked about her own experiences with the Rhythm project. She and the Rhythm members were still in the middle of the 4way competition and were hoping to add a few more rounds after the weather hold. SDC Flow with JaNette Lefkowitz was behind SDC Force with Steve Lefkowitz at the time of the NSL Talk .

Courtney Lee with SDC Flow: NSL bronze medals
Courtney Lee explained how her team went through the SDC Rhythm XP school with JaNette Lefkowitz and now makes new plans for a team with only full players and external coaching. Members of SDC Force, SDF Flow and SDC Edge will join forces as Courtney Lee put it: "We will join Force and Flow to the Edge..."

It will not be the only new project team that continues with only players. Steve Lefkowitz said that two Force members are also forming a new lineup with other project participants. The currently most famous team with three former members of Rhythm player coaching lineups is Vibe, the winner of the Advanced Class competition at the USPA Nationals 2012.

Finally, the conversation also turned to the current situation of SDC Rhythm XP and provided additional insights. There is disappointment to a certain extent, no doubt, as a very successful and promising 2012 season did not have a happy ending with new plans for next year. However, too many great things happened this year, which motivate and encourage the continuing Rhythm members to move on with full force.

Start of another best season: SDC Rhythm XP's 2012 lineup at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012
SDC Rhythm XP's 2012 lineup became arguably the 4th or 5th best 4way team in the world, and the progression was impressive. JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz explained that they had to go through a new phase of evaluation and planning almost every year at the end of the competition season, as the new plans always became bigger and more demanding for other team members who could not adjust their life situations accordingly.

They said that this annual "Remodeling" helped themselves to be creative and flexible and find good solutions. Result was the fact that each year they have been looking back at a new "best year in team history". They have become used to this annual conclusion, and even the 2012 season brought the same one after only one year with this lineup. It's no surprise that JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz are motivated to move on, together with Alex Bittner and two new members.

In the meantime, SDC Rhythm XP offers a similar experience that Arizona Airspeed has offered in the past. They raffle out a free Rhythm weekend with jumps and tunnel time for the winner of the $50 raffle. Sounds like enough fun for the NSL News to buy a ticket after a miss at the recent Airspeed raffle... Interested skydivers can contact Steve Lefkowitz by e-mail.
