Did You Know...

... that the Czech 4way champion Lize missed the last indoor meet for a good reason?

Lize at the November indoor competition at Sportflight Prague
posted Dec 10th, 2012 - There are new scores on the front page, which means that life goes on after the completion of the Mondial Dubai 2012. However, many topics will still be related to this incredible event, and even the newest indoor leaderboard relates to Dubai.

The scores are coming from the Czech Republic where Jan Klapka has launched the second winter season of his indoor league. The most current leaderboard shows the scores of the meet that was just completed last weekend as the second one after the end of the Czech outdoor season of 2012.

The leaderboard below was created in November for the opener of the indoor winter season at the Sportsflight Skydive Arena in Prague. League organizer and Bad Boyz member Jan Klapka was excited to see a total of 12 teams at his first meet this winter. The indoor project is gaining the same momentum that he has seen when he launched the Czech Republic Skydiving League years ago.

Lize/Skyservice lineup of 2006
The 12 teams in November and the December meet included two VFS 4way teams who competed in a Rookie Class that Jan Klapka laid out for the beginners in this category. The scores for the Czech VFS 4way competition can be found at the VFS part of the NSL website.

The most recent Czech indoor leaderboard does not include the national team and 4way champion Lize, which is not a surprise. The Czech national team was busy competing in Dubai when the indoor league meet of December took place in Prague.

Lize had attended and won the indoor competition in November. This gave the Bad Boyz the opportunity to take the top of the leaderboard that Lize, also known as Skyservice, has occupied for many years in the Czech Republic. However, the Bad Boyz were only nine points behind and closer than ever at the November meet.

Lize lineup at the Mondial Dubai 2012
Lize was in the group of the next ten teams behind the Top 10 and finished in 18th place with a 14.9 average, almost exactly in the middle of the field of 37 national teams from all over the planet. The last time a team from the Czech Republic competed at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving was in 2006. Three Lize members (Jiri Jirman, Jan Lukavec, Stepan Tuma) had finished with a 13.2 average in 19th place of 25 teams in Germany.

It is quite unusual that a team outscores itself at an outdoor competition. Lize had posted a 14.1 average at this year's national championships and then followed up with a 14.6 average at the November indoor competition. The 14.9 average in Dubai is the teams highest result this year - indoor and outdoor.

Jan Klapka has scheduled one indoor competition each month before the 2013 outdoor season begins on May 25th. The Bad Boyz may have to accpt the 2nd place again when Lize is coming back to Prague in January - or get even closer...
