The scores were generated by the December showdown between teams and competitors from the Florida and the Northwest Skydiving League. The Florida Skydiving League community met once again last Thursday at iFLY Orlando and launched this month's competition with the first scores on the special leaderboard.
The FSL teams and competitors who represented Florida on the November leaderboard had to digest bad news first of all and before they got ready for the new competition sequences in the six categories. Head coach Ari Perelman announced that the Northwest Skydiving League had won the November showdown by 12 points and that the overall match is now tied (2 - 2) after the four monthly contests this year.
The scores do not accumulate for a total for the year. Each month counts as a separate competition in itself and has a winning group who gets one scoring point. The scores of the December showdown will now decide who is the winner of the 2012 season.
The first FSL scores for December are strong ones, as the overall leaderboard of the previous months shows. The total of 114 points would have outscored the Northwest Skydiving League at all the earlier meets in 2012.

The first FSL session this month was a part of the latest FSL Tunnel Kicker, which is sponsored by iFLY Orlando. It's a monthly event where the Florida Skydiving League welcomes all skydivers who are interested in 4way competition to learn about the sport and improve their individual skills. The Tunnel Kicker consists of free 1-on-1 training for beginners and often includes the first 4way flying sessions for the participants.
All participants get their training in the first part of the FSL Tunnel Kicker. Head coach Ari Perelman and his assistants then select the lineups for the indoor competition that follows at the end. That's the time when the monthly sequences of the FSL/NWSL showdown will be performed for the first time. The scores can then still be improved at other additional sessions later in the same month. The first FSL scores are out, and it is the NWSL turn to respond.
